INTRODUCTION

It is a great pleasure to introduce ourselvesGEO GROUPas a Geo-Technical explorer in the field of Soil and Rock Mechanics which is one of the most important branch dealing with the vast base Earth Surface as well as unknown, unpredictable nature of Earth crust, its study directly related to the safe life-long existence of any of the man made structures and testing of different engineering materials and various field tests. Without the proper understanding and knowledge of soil formation, no creation is absolutely safe and self-confidant. Hence it is very important to explore its nature, its various characteristics, formations, strength, stability etc. as safety factor in terms of life, economy and catastrophic.

Many of the structures in past have been found demolished just because of ignorance of resting base and its type, soil or rock, which has lead to many casualties in terms of life and investment. The pure and perfect understanding is yet a blindfold but still by the efforts of many great scientists and engineers we are very near to the imaginations of the almighty. Since last many years intelligence is working on it and has evolved many facts and provided us with many important information. Due consideration to it can put us a step ahead in preserving our imaginations and creations.

We are one of the scientific research groups interested always in exploring the unknown variables of earth. We were established fifteen years ago in this field and are now confident to evolve and explore out any opportunity and challenge. In the last fifteen years we have completed many projects to the utmost satisfaction of our clients and ourselves too. It has been a great pleasure to work on any project of our subject. We are a well-equipped group consisting of very efficient engineers and technicians who are always ready to take up any challenge.

Many a times it happens that people raise their structures ignoring the importance of soil investigation and due to their wrong approximations the projects end us as failures. We have gone through the causes of these failures, the common ones are mentioned below:

(i) Due to differential settlement of soil forming cracks beneath the bottom fiber of wall and as brick wall are weak in tension ultimately cracks lead to failure of structure. This is because of the change in type of soil strata having different soil properties.

(ii) Also if the soil is of swelling characteristics, its creates uplift forces and cracks starts forming in the walls from top fiber, and the ignorance of contractor would curse its construction capability.

It is not only the soil, which creates problems, but also the materials used, their typical properties, strength, and acceptability criteria. Hence, the materials should also be confirmed before its use. Many of the tests have been stated for the mechanical as well as physical properties of the material used in the formation of structures.

Hence, we are also dealing with following, i.e. Architectural Consultancy, Structural Consultancy, Projects, Field tests, testing of various civil engineering materials, third party inspections etc. to safe guard the survival of the precious structures whether it is a small wall or a massive creations.

All the Structures are design by preparing 3- Dimensional modeling and applying all the worst combinations of loading and discretising the structure in finite element with optimal use of all engineering planning with use of sophisticated software like Staad-III, Strap, Auto CAD R-14 and Auto Cad-2000.
