Post title:Personal Learning Adviser
Hours:3 days per week over 52 weeks per year, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday preferably

Grade/salary scale: CC29 - £22,187

Primary Purpose:
- To ensure ahigh quality learner experience through the learner journey on programme and on toprogression into further/higher education, training or employment.
- To ensure that all learners receive their full entitlements (in line with our USP; Universal, Specialist and Personal promise) to high quality teaching, support, personal and employability development.
- To fully integrate support for learners, including case-conferencing, progress reviews,tutorials, pastoral, welfare and disciplinary,championing the needs of learners, mainly those aged 16-19 on study programme provision.
- To facilitate high quality group tutorial provision on a range of health, citizenship, student life, safeguarding and employability topics
- To be an active and collaborative member of thelearner journey team and curriculum cluster teams, taking shared ownership for the strategic objectives of The Cornwall College Group.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Coach and develop learners to achieve their ambitions and expectations.
- Collaborate with other key managers/staff to deliver aworld class learner experience.
- Champion learner voice and feedback to develop and improve the quality of the learner experience.
- Contribute to and follow up on group case conferencing with curriculum colleagues.
- Act as curriculum and learner support for pastoral care, disciplinary and welfare issues, including liaison with external agencies and parents/carers where necessary.
- Support the delivery and share responsibility for the clustertargets for attendance, retention, achievement and progression.

Experience, Education, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- A proven track record of work in a similar role to support, train, coach, mentor or teach young people aged 16-25.
- A teaching/training qualification or willing to work towards achieving on appointment.
- Sound knowledge of employability and safeguarding.
- Good knowledge of learner welfare support related issues
- A minimum of alevel 3 qualification in a related discipline or significant equivalent experience.
- GCSE English and maths at A-C grade (or equivalent) are essential
Special conditions
The focus of this role would be to act as the advocate and champion of the learner and for this reason, it would not normally be appropriate for the post holder to also cover a role where they would be responsible for teaching or curriculum management responsibilities for a learner who would also be part of their Learning Adviser cohort.
