It is your RESPONSIBILITY to get the class work you have missed, complete it and turn it in.

All work (assignments, projects and tests/quizzes) will receive 60% for work submitted late. Plan ahead! Let your instructor know if you have extenuating circumstances as to why you missed the deadline. Tests will be allowed for retakes if your score is below standard (<80%) and made-up within two weeks of the exam. All chapter work must be complete before a make-up exam is taken on a particular chapter.

AFTER BEING ABSENT FROM CLASS:

  1. Ask a neighbor to see exactly what work was done. (Was there an assignment in the book? Did you miss a quiz/test? Do you need to plan time to make-up a test/work?)
  1. If you have any questions, be sure to see me at the end or beginning of class and I will help you. Be certain that you understand the assignment BEFORE you leave class.
  1. If you were absent when an assignment was due write ABSENT at the top of your completed assignment when you turn in work.
  1. If you are absent on the day a test or quiz is given, then you will take it the day you return. (Unless it has been a long illness.) It is your responsibility to ask me for the quiz or test that you missed.

While using the Business Department Facilities, a student is charged with the following responsibilities:

  1. To observe all routines and procedures established by teacher.
  2. To observe the rules of safety.
  3. To be courteous and respectful to all classmates and the teacher.
  4. To do nothing that will harm someone else physically or emotionally.
  5. To do nothing that will make it difficult for someone else to learn.
  6. To await instructions for the day.
  7. Submit only work that is yours.
  8. No food, beverages or gum in the labs.
  9. No cell phones are allowed in class.
  10. To come to class on-time and be prepared to learn.

Computer Expectations:

: No e-mail, chatrooms, bulletin boards, posting/publishing of web pages or sending personal information through the computer.

: Do not tamper or change the configuration and networking of your computer.

: Do not use personal music, games or other programs in the school’s computers. No exceptions! Do not download and program without teacher permission.

: To sit at the assigned computer.

: To notify the teacher immediately if you notice something missing, broken, or marked on. This includes items such as: computer, mouse, desk, chair, bookstand, keyboard, and electronic calculator.

: Do not log on another student’s file—no exceptions!

: Only work in the program areas that you are instructed to be working in.

: Internet use is designed specifically for classroom research. See Auburn School District Internet Policy for specific details of contract.

: Work submitted for credit will not be accepted unless it was created by the student and saved on his/her own directory. Do not assist another student by providing printouts of your work to neighbors—this is cheating.

: To be responsible and display careful maintenance of the equipment.

Absences and Tardy Policy:

See Student Handbook

*Note that 12 or more absences in a semester can jeopardize a student from receiving credit or a fail for the class.

When a student is tardy they must sign-in report to the Attendance Office. If a teacher, counselor or administrator holds you back late, make sure you get a pass. In the world of work you are expected to be on time.

It is a fact that if you do not get in the habit of good attendance at school, that this bad habit carries over to the working world as an adult. You are expected to attend class and be on time.

Passes:

All passes whether going to the office, locker, and bathroom will be limited to two per quarter. Keep track and use your time wisely! ¹

Cheating:

It is the responsibility of each student to complete his/her own work and to avoid cheating even the appearance of cheating. First violation will involve loss of grade for the assignment/test (0), parent notification and detention. The second violation is a full grade deduction for the quarter and again parent contact.

I have received and read the responsibility and expectation rules.

Because of safety and appropriateness, there is to be no use of e-mail or chat rooms in the computer labs unless specifically identified as a learning objective for the course.
2.  A second warning of tampering and off-task behavior will result in loss of machine for the day, parent contact and possible detention with the teacher.
3.  Continued altering of software and noncompliance will result in loss of machine for two days and an immediate parent conference with the teacher, student and administrator.
Cheating will result in the loss of assignment grade (0) and parent notification. A second occurrence will be a loss of a full letter grade and parent notification.
