Grade/salary scale: / CC14 to CC 18, £16,505 -£18,057per annum pro rata
Context of post:
To provide administrative support to the HR team. To work with the HR team in providing an effective and comprehensive HR service. To provide excellent standards of customer service.
Main Duties:
- Use of Chris21 & iTrent
- Action change forms
- Complete new starters set up subject to statutory checks
- DBS checking and chasing
- Data tracking - Follow up on probation and induction
- Write contract and chase contract return
- Sickness recording and reporting
- Support advisors by corresponding to employees
- Capture disciplinary and grievance process
- Input leavers information
- Input holiday and leave (inclusive of maternity)
- Chase fixed end dates and signpost appropriately
- Work on the HR helpdesk as part of a rota
- Any other office duties deemed reasonable

- Maintain confidentially in all communications
Person Specification
Essential:
- Accuracy of data entry is key to this role
- Previous experience of Human Resources including basic Employment Law
- An excellent understanding and knowledge of IT
- Experience of administrative roles which included significant data entry
- Produce high quality work and to tight deadlines
- Have excellent organisation skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to promote the professional and helpful approach to TCCG employees
- Give attention to detail, high accuracy is needed
- A high level of commitment and confidentiality
- Ability to work flexibly is required
Qualifications
Essential
Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice or equivalent
Desirable
Maths and English at level 2

It may also be necessary to check the driving licence of other members of staff, before commencement of employment, where they are required to drive on Cornwall College business to ensure they meet The Cornwall College Group policies (Pages 40-43 (driving for work policy) of the Health & Safety Policy). If the role requires a staff member to use their own vehicle there is a legal requirement to hold business use category on their motor insurance policies.
