

Qualifications

/ Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in public health, health science or nursing.
/ Three years experience in training, wellness or health promotion required.
/ Experience with data analysis is highly desirable.
/ Training or prior experience in social or behavioral research preferred.
/ Valid Florida Registered Nurse license or health related certification.
/ Valid Florida Driver License.

Provide group and individual counseling, population-based health promotion, disease prevention and management, and behavior modification services at schools and worksites.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Considerable knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention/management. Ability to educate and motivate diverse populations on the benefits of reducing individual health risks and behavioral modifications. Knowledge of research methodology in health statistics, survey sampling and data management. Proficiency in use of computers and software. Knowledge of spreadsheet and statistical software. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and abilities. Must be able to work independently and integrate well in a collaborative environment. Solid judgment and outstanding problem-solving skills.
Performance Responsibilities: Essential Functions
/ Develop and implement evaluation processes for health and wellness.
/ Proactively research grant and funding opportunities for health/wellness programs and initiatives.
/ Develop health-related materials for employees.
/ Develop, implement, market and evaluate intervention and educational programs for employees based on their individual health risks.
/ Research and evaluate methods for data collection, analysis, presentation and program evaluation.
/ Present and disseminate research results.
/ Promote and assist with wellness screenings for all employees including cardiovascular disease, cancer and osteoporosis.
/ Provide fitness/nutritional counseling as needed.
/ Coordinate annual health surveys.
/ Promote medical self-responsibilities and self-care to employees.
/ Identify, coordinate and write health related grants for program funding, working closely with district office personnel.
/ Research current topics and best practices in promoting healthy lifestyles for Brevard County employees and students.
/ Maintain database of publications and research articles.
/ Provide outstanding customer service, and use positive interpersonal communication skills.
/ Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with Brevard Public Schools’ Organizational Values.
/ Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions (ADA Compliance)
