WEBT Goal
The goal of the Wisconsin Experience Bus Trip is to bring the University of Wisconsin-Madison current and future student leaders together for a week to expand on the Wisconsin Idea while traveling throughout the state. This will be accomplished through cultural immersion with the diverse areas of Wisconsin, immersion into the iconic business communities of Wisconsin and through exploration of the Wisconsin Idea through learning about the ways in which the University of Wisconsin System expands to the borders of the state. Ultimately, this will lead to a more cohesive set of top student leaders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a better understanding of what they stand for through the Wisconsin Idea, better prepared to move our campus and Wisconsin forward.
Through this program, student participants will:
1Increase student action on personal, social, and civic responsibilities
2Increase student cultural competency
WEBT Co-Coordinator Responsibilities
These two positions will work collaboratively on the following items:
  • Coordinates participant orientation
  • Oversees participant recruitment
  • Recruits staff/faculty trip advisor
  • Coordinates of all logistical aspects of the trip
  • Finalizes the curriculum for the weeklong trip
  • Attends the Bus Trip in May (May 14-18, 2018)
  • Implements assessment and compiles results into final report by end of June 2018
  • Assists with WEBT reunion events in fall semester
  • Maintain on-going updates and communication with:
  • Assigned Advisors: WI Union Leadership Assistant Director and Division Student Life Staff Member
  • Vice Provost for Student Life/Dean of Students
  • Submits monthly progress reports to Dean of Students, Jones Leadership Center and Division of Student Life
  • Oversees WEBT Budget
  • Submits original budget for approval to Jones Leadership Center and Division of Student Life
  • Ensures all bills are paid in a timely manner
  • Creates a wrap up report and evaluation into a final report presented to the Dean of Students and staff from Jones Leadership Center and Division of Student Life
  • Other duties as assigned by supervising office (either the Division of Student Life or the Wisconsin Union)
  • Facilitates a small working committee (meeting weekly or bi-weekly, as needed)
Members:
  • WEBT Coordinators
  • Coordinates logistical components of the trip
  • Attend the Bus trip and serves as a trip co-lead
  • WEBT Alumni (as needed)

Additional Details
There will be two coordinator positions available. One will be housed in the Division of Student Life and one will be housed in the Wisconsin Union’s Jones Leadership Center. Other duties may be assigned as needed by CfLI or the Wisconsin Union.
$10/hour; 8-10 hours per week; November 1st through End of June; Position is work-study eligible
Regular meetings with CfLI advisor or Wisconsin Union advisor are required.
Previous WEBT experience preferred
