The Cooper Center is an environmental education site that is located in a beautiful, relatively pristine area in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. The purpose of the program is to provide a natural area, resource personnel, and facilities to students so that they may have an outdoor experience as an integral part of their school curriculum. School groups have been coming to Cooper since the mid 1960's to learn about the natural world and discover its wonders.
Your child will be supervised by Cooper staff, his/her teacher, and volunteers from your child’s classroom. He/she will be involved in a full schedule of curriculum-related activities during his/her stay.
Facilities include a kitchen, office, classroom, sleeping cabins, bathrooms, and a large ramada, small ramadas, and amphitheater. Your child will also have access to water, first aid supplies, and an emergency phone if required.
Your child's classroom teacher will inform you of further details concerning the Cooper field experience visit. If you have questions or concerns that cannot be answered by the teacher, you are more than welcome to contact us at the Cooper Center.
The Cooper Center’s staff looks forward to working with your child and we know that this experience will provide him/her with lifelong memories about the wonders of the Sonoran Desert.

El Centro Cooper es un sitio para la educación en medio ambiente que se encuentra a los pies de las “Tucson Mountains”, al oeste de la ciudad. El propósito de este programa es proveer de profesionales de la educación y de las instalaciones necesarias a los estudiantes para que tengan una excelente experiencia educativa al aire libre, integrando también, el curriculum de su escuela. Es así que, grupos escolares han venido continuamente desde los años 1960s a aprender y descubrir el mundo natural y sus maravillas.
Su hijo(a)será supervisado por el personal del Centro Cooper, su profesor(a) y voluntarios que vienen desde la sala de clases y escuela de su hijo(a). Durante su estadía, su hijo(a) será parte de actividades al aire libre relacionadas al curriculum.
El Centro Cooper cuenta con instalaciones básicas para sus estudiantes, tales como una cocina, una oficina, una sala de clases, cabañas para dormir, baños, ramadas de distintos tamaños y un anfiteatro. Además, su hijo(a) tendrá acceso a agua, primeros auxilios y un teléfono de emergencia, si así se necesita.
El profesor(a) de su hijo(a) le informará futuros detalles acerca de la visita. Si usted tiene alguna pregunta que no puede ser respondida por el profesor(a), por favor no dude en contactarnos a los números telefónicos que se encuentran más abajo.
