General Comment

Example:

1. Overall, this manuscript would benefit from rearrangement and revision instead of direct translation.

2. Before rewriting, a complete review of literatures is really needed.

3. Although this manuscript is lack of innovation, it has the chance to be accepted by low rank journals, If the premise is an experienced writer.

Title Page

Example:

1.A financial statement (a statement of sponsorship, including grant numbers) should be included if relevant.

2.Any presentation information about the manuscript contents should be listed here.

3.A running title should be included, which should be based on the criteria of the target journal.

Abstract

Example:

1. Style abstract to conform to word limit and section subtitles as required by the target journal.

2. The English abstract in current manuscript cannot be used in the final version, correct English usage and overall statements.

3. The full name of VPA should be included when it appears firstly.

Key Words

Example:

The choice of key words needs to be made to conform to the National Library of Medicine’s Medical Subject Heading to assure reference hits.

Introduction

Example:

  1. It should restructure, the introduction does not have a strict word limit, unlike the abstract, current introduction is too short. the introduction gives an overall review of the paper, a good introduction explains how you mean to solve the research problem, and reats leads to make the reader want to delve further into your work. A good introduction should contain the following three parts:

a. background: in this part you have to make clear what context is, ideally, you should give an idea of the state-of-the art of the field the report is about.

b. the problem: if there was no problem there would be no reason for writing a report, and definitely no reason for reading it. So please tell the reviewer why she should proceed reading. A simple sentence like “the above mentioned solutions donnot apply to the case.....”

c.the proposed solution: here you have to make sure you point out what are the novel aspects of your work, there are probably zillions of articles out there on that very subject, you cannot expect the reviewer to know them all, hence, mak his life easier and clearly highlight what is the difference between your method and the others.

  1. The use of references in this section need to be reviewed for the following reasons:

a.The author cites numerous references. However, she should limit these to those that have been reviewed in whole and are directly relevant.

b.There needs to be agreement between number of references stated in a sentence and the number of citations made.

Methods and Materials

Example:

1. Need to say more about the subjects in term of their demographic data such as gender, disease.

2. State the location of study.

3. State whether informed consent was attained.

4. State whether institutional guidelines were followed.

5. Need to give the evidence for the validity of the diagnostic criteria used, the book published in China might not be suitable.

6. Diagnostic criteria should be more concrete.

7. Anyone checks the data after they were collected? If had, it would be benefit from adding it to the method aspect.

8. Some detail information should be added, such as data collection, and it should be consistent with the results.

9. What’s your Nosocomial Infection Surveillance Program? Give reviewer more details. Which kind of training and examination were provided to staff?

Results

Example:

1. State demographic results.

2. Any infants died from nosocomial infection?

3. It would benefit from adding mircroorganisms responsible of ICU acquired infections.

4. Whether invasive mechanical ventilation and length of stay are risk factors, any other risk factor?

4. An assessment of the statistical findings presented needs to be completed.

5. Hold 1 digit after the decimal point when you want express infection rate, such as 16.7%.

6. Give the chi-square value, not only P value.

7. A brief statement of the summation and significance of the findings at the end of the section and its implication would segue into the next section.

8. It would benefit to rewrite this part if possible, according to English writing habits.

Discussion

Example:

1.Discussion is a little simple, it should discuss and interpret the finding from the results more. I suggest making a complete review of the literatures before you rewrite this part.

2.Refinement of the presentation of the data in this section (that is, to provide more description) is required.

3.A list of strengths and limitations of this study is needed.

4.Clear recommendations for future study should be made.

5. There are many Nosocomial Infection Surveillance Programs around the world, it is better for you to read more then before rewriting your paper.

6. The infection rate in 2009 was still significantly higher than it in 2011 and 2012 in the infants weighted 1001-1500 g, why?

7. It is better to read more literatures before you say that our infection rate is lower than other reports. all the references should change if you want to publish SCI, and you have a lot of challenging work ahead.

Acknowledgement

Example:

1. Must be included if necessary and according to the format of target journal.

Reference

Example:

1.Style adheres to the journal guidelines.

2. All the references should be changed.

Tables

Example:

  1. If you translate it yourself, please remember, the tables require titles that are generally descriptive, but are not full sentences.
  2. The explanations presently provided should be included in the text of the manuscript.
  3. Lack of standardization, for example, “感染例次” should be corrected as “感染例次 (n)”, “构成比”should be corrected as “构成比 (%)”. Correct table format.
  4. It is better to merge some table items, for example, merges “感染例数” and “日感染率‰” to “No. (%) of infants with nosocomial infection”.
  5. Add table and state demographic results.
  6. It is better to enrich table 4, is it infections site associated with weight or other factors?
  7. Add data of infectious bacteria species if possible.

Novelty of the manuscript

Example:

Have the intervening measure, Nosocomial Infection Surveillance Program and clinical findings in this manuscript being extensively used in other countries around the world? In other words, is this manuscript “NEW”to the foreign journals? Please be more specific and give a grade range for 1 to 10. (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.). I think this article lack of innovation.

Proposed Target Journal

Example:

SCI system is used to select the target journal. Traditionally, we have categorized the SCI system into three distinctive levels according to its impact factor. The three levels are high, middle, and low ranks, respectively.

For example, if a journal in the OB/GYN field has its highest ranking as an impact factor of 6, then you can divide 6 by 3. Thus, a high rank journal should include any journals with impact factor from 4 to 6. Middle rank journals would include any journals with an impact factor ranging from 2 to 4. Low rank journals would include any journals with an impact factor ranging from 0 to 2.

We suggest you to submit to the low rank journals because the manuscript is not excellent and outstanding for the consideration of high or middle rank journals.
