CONSTRUCTION UPDATES!

Great news! We have been approved for a crossing guard at the corner of 41st and Sue Barnett! The construction crew has also agreed to move the fence back so we can access more of the walking path in our Spark Park. You should see the change when we return from break. Please continue to exercise an abundance of caution and patience as we all deal with traffic and parking challenges. Remember your children are listening and watching your example as you interact with others!

We will have an official ground-breaking ceremony in January or February. I will keep you posted as we proceed. Thank you in advance for beingflexible as we navigate this adventure!

Public Montessori Education

Did you know there is a National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector? This organization works closely with the American Montessori Society to support the 475 public Montessori schools in the US. Itis a knowledge-centered organization. Our work revolves around the development and dissemination of information that can advance excellent Montessori education in the public sector. Through the creation of a tightly linked and supportive network of schools and a set of comprehensive technical support services, the Center aims to serve as both a convener of a vibrant community of practice and a provider of effective support and solutions for practitioners. I am currently running for election to the AMS Executive Board! See my campaign video at

Montessori Moment

Peace is a practical principle of human civilization and social organization that is based on the very nature of man. Peace does not enslave him; rather, it exalts him.... And because it is based on man’s nature, it a constant, a universal principle that applies to all human beings. This principle must be our guide in building a science of peace and educating men for peace. – Dr. Maria Montessori
