Article I.

Women’s Club Lacrosse

Article II.

As a club, our goal is to help grow the lacrosse community within the University of Arkansas, and, in general, Northwest Arkansas. We hope to allow experienced players to grow and continue playing a sport they love, while offering new members the opportunity to play a sport that has allowed women to be part of a team and something bigger than themselves. We will, to the best of our ability, represent the University of Arkansas, our families and ourselves in the best, most respectful manor, at all times.

Article III.

Women’s Club Lacrosse plays within the Texas Women’s Lacrosse League (TWLL), which is governed by US Lacrosse.

Article IV.

  1. We the Women’s Club Lacrosse team do not turn away any members on the basis of ethnicity, country of origin, age, marital or paternal status, disability, or sexual orientation.
  2. Each member must pay dues online, on the UREC website, or at the UREC Main Office during office hours. Dues must be paid, in full, prior to members attending club trips. Dues are to be paid within a month of joining the team, and are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  3. Women’s Club Lacrosse will provide uniforms for each player. However, if a player loses her uniform, she is responsible for purchasing a replacement.
  4. Members are required to attend all practices, and will only be excused from practices for work, school, illness, or family emergency related situations. If a member fails to notify an officer before she misses practice, she will not be eligible to travel for spring games.
  5. Membership can be revoked by failing to pay dues, being extremely disrespectful to coaches and/or teammates and repeatedly skipping practice without a valid excuse.

Article V.

Members acknowledge and agree that:

  1. This constitution serves as a contract between each member and the club as a whole
  2. She must read and comply with this constitution itself
  3. And by submitting to this constitution, members are subject to the jurisdiction of TWLL regulations meaning that each member agrees to respect the decisions made by the executive chairs whom they elected.

Article VI.

  1. Officer Duties:

Elected officers make a commitment when accepting nominations and promise to fulfill her duties in each position. If one cannot fulfill her duties, she will be asked to step down as an officer.Elected officers may not resign from position unless they wish to terminate their club membership. If membership is terminated for this reason and she would later like to return to the team, she would not be permitted to be nominated, run for, or be elected into an officer position ever again. All officers are expected to attend Club Sports meetings or events that pertain specifically to their position and to attend Senate meetings regularly.

  1. President is expected to attend TWLL conference, organize game times, locations, officials, fields, and make sure that the team is in compliance with all conference and national regulations. She is also expected to attend monthly (in off-season) and weekly (in-season) meetings to ensure that the team is reaching full potential and functioning well.
  2. Vice-President is expected to aid president when she cannot do all the tasks listed above in time due to class, work, or family. She is also expected to check up on other officers to ensure that each is doing what she agreed to do when elected. Also expected to attend TWLL conference.
  3. Secretary is responsible for checking that each member attends practice, emails or calls in an excuse, and checks in members at any events they are required to attend.
  4. Treasure is expected to complete annual budget reports, attend monthly budget check meetings, draw up travel paperwork and request travel funds, deliver physical donations to UREC and keep a running balance of funds available for equipment.
  5. Social Media Chair is responsible for promoting our team online on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and wherever else she deems of value. She is expected to keep post up-to-date and appropriate. She will be expected to post about games (before and after), fundraisers, and any general information that is of value to the team or lacrosse community.
  6. Fundraising Chair is expected to set up, attend, and direct fundraising events. She is expected to set up at least TWO philanthropy events per semester for club members to attend. A minimum of FOUR fundraising events, or $300 raised per semester is also expected.
  7. Apparel chair is responsible for designing, submitting for approval, checking trademark, and ordering club apparel. She will need to do this in the first semester so that we have apparel and spirit wear for spring games.
  1. Any member is eligible to run for office after being a member for one semester, or if a position becomes available and other members and coach are in agreement that she would fill the position well.
  2. Elections will take place at the end of the spring semester at the final team meeting or when an office is vacated.
  3. Impeachment or Leave of Office requires that a member foregoes her eligibly for membership at all. Should the other offices, coach, and team see fit that an officer be asked to step down, she will, without argument, resign from both her office and her membership of the ream. If an officer willingly decides to step down, she will also forego her right to be a member and any future opportunities to run for an elected office.

Article VII.

  1. Coaches are expected to be in attendance at as many practices as possible as well as being in attendance at games. Coaches are to be able to offer his or her opinion regarding situations in which the team is unsure and direct the team as to what they should do. Coaches are expected to respect the players, as well as command respect from the team.

Article VIII.

  1. There will be at least TWO club meetings each year, one in the fall semester, and one in the spring. Goals for the team and individuals will be discussed at each meeting as well as any ideas or issues members would like to bring to the team’s attention.

Article IX. Amending Constitution

  1. If there is a vote taken to amend the constitution, there must be a majority rule in order for changes to be made. Officers cannot overrule club majority.

Article X. Ratification of Constitution

  1. Constitution will be reviewed and signed copies will be submitted by members during the second week of practice. For members who join later in the semester, we will require a signed constitution before officially recognizing her as a member.
