There are many agencies and websites that provide information on the range of resources available to support families with young children. The Family EducationClearinghouse (FEC) / Provides current information about courses, workshops, lectures, conferences and other educational resources available to parents of children of all ages in the Ottawa area. This information is available online as a searchable directory of parent education events, by email as a monthly bulletin and is also published in the Capital Parent newspaper.
Community Information Centre / A free bilingual service linking Ottawa citizens with community resources – Information and Referralto individuals and professionals looking for social, health, community or governmental services. Child Care
Information / Child Care Information is a bilingual, non-profit information and referral service on early learning and child care. The program has been mandated by the City of Ottawa to manage the Child Care Centralized Waiting List for all Licensed Child Care Centres and Home Child Care Agencies within the City of Ottawa boundaries. For families seeking licensed child care spaces, the Centralized Waiting List greatly simplifies the process by allowing parents/guardians to register their child or children on the waiting list of several child care services in one step. / Tel.: 613-248-3605
