People with Disabilities Represent One of the Largest Voter Minority Groups in the United

Over 100 self-advocates, their family members, and professional organizations will come together to celebrate Disability Awareness Day on February 16, 2017 in the Great Hall at the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck.

People with disabilities represent one of the largest voter minority groups in the United States. Disability Awareness Day will provide people with disabilities, who are important to our community, the opportunity to engage with their legislature.

The North Dakota Disabilities Advocacy Consortium (NDDAC) is offering you the opportunity to help create more engaged and empowered North Dakota citizens by sponsoring Disability Awareness Day. Your sponsorship will help pay for lodging, travel expenses, and meals for people with disabilities who want to share their stories with their legislators during Disability Awareness Day. SponsoringDisability Awareness Day willallowyourorganizationtogain public exposurebyhaving your logo on a sponsor board at the State Capitol during the event.

NDDAC is a statewide membership organization, whose mission is to “unite to ensure citizens with disabilities have the opportunity to lead independent and productive lives.” NDDAC seeks to bring persons with disabilities, their families, and advocacy organizations together to speak with one voice. Since formed 14 years ago, NDDAC has worked to change public policy and services in North Dakota to better meet the needs of people throughout the state.
