SHOW RULES AND CONDITIONS.

  1. BSPS Rule 46 in the 2017 BSPS Rule & Show Handbook- Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos. All PASO15 ,(BS) ,ASTMF1163 04a onwards, SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted.
  2. HEALTH AND SAFETY. This show is run with due regard to Health and Safety. The primary contact on the day will be Mr. V.Whiteley.It is in the best interests of all exhibitors and spectators that they comply with any request, verbal or written, from any Show Official which pertains to Health and Safety matters. Any accident must be reported to a Show official as soon as possible. First Aiders will be on duty for all classes.
  3. Any horse/pony which is not under complete control or in any way constitutes a danger will be asked to leave the show ground. Horses/ponies are not allowed to be ridden other than at a WALK except in the rings and working in areas.
  4. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  5. Neither the organizers nor the owners of the property will be responsible or liable for any loss accident or damage to any persons or their property.
  6. The Directors of Area 15 Limited reserve the right to refuse or accept entries at their complete discretion.
  7. All horses and ponies must be 4yrs old or over
  8. Only tack that is permissible in the ring in BSPS classes is allowed to be used on the show ground.

This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the BSPS, including disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. Owners and riders must be BSPS Members before the date of the show to compete in classes with qualification. Membership forms and payment must be received in the office no later than the last working day (Monday to Friday) prior to the date of the qualifying show. (see rule 22)

THIS SHOW IS A QUALIFIER FOR THE R.I.H.S. Only one pony in each of the Nursery Stakes OR Open WHP OR Lead Rein Show Hunter OR Open SHP classes OR Open Intermediate WH OR Lead Rein Class OR First Ridden class OR Open Show Pony OR Mixed Height Pretty Polly Show Pony, Pretty Polly122cms-133cms Mixed Height SHP, Pretty Polly 143cms-153cms Mixed Height SHP, Pretty Polly Heritage First and Ridden Lead Rein and Pretty Polly Mixed Height Heritage ridden classes 20 (see Rule 311b re: qualification) OR Open Heritage Lead Rein and First Ridden OR Open Heritage Ridden Classes OR Ridden Part Bred Anglo Arab classes qualifies. The highest placed (not already qualified) from the first THREEponies placed in each class will qualify Owners and riders must be BSPS Members and the pony registered to compete in classes with RIHS Qualification except for the Anglo and Part bred Arabs who must be registered with the Arab Horse Society.

THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE QUALIFIERS FOR THE BSPS SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOW on AUGUST 24-27th 2017.orse classes are being held

“BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES”RIDER OF THE YEAR” The Best Rider in each of the following Open Classes at all BSPS Affiliated Shows will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the Final at the Summer Championships Show :- Open Lead Rein, Open First Ridden, Open Show Ponies 128cm,138cm,148cm, Lead Rein Hunter Type, 122cm, 133cm, 143cm &153cm Show Hunter Ponies, Open Cradle Stakes, Nursery Stakes, 133cm, 143cm & 153cm Working hunter ponies, Open Intermediate SRT,SH, WH classes, Heritage First Ridden and Lead Rein, Ridden and WHP classes also to riders who have not attained their 25th birthday before lst January in the current year in the Heritage Ridden and WHP.

The” BSPS CHALLENGE” All summer qualifying shows that are affiliated to the BSPS are qualifiers for the“TheBSPS Challenge”. Animals may enter both the BSPS Blue Riband of the Year and the BSPS Challenge. Animals must have qualified for the Challenge by attending any BSPS affiliated show and competed in the appropriate class. Ponies must not have qualified for the 2017 Horse of the Year Show. If a pony qualifies for the Horse of the Year show it will forfeit is qualification for “The BSPS Challenge” Leading Reinand First Ridden, Open show ponies, Cradle stake, Nursery stakes, Open working hunter ponies, Open lead rein of hunter, Open show hunter ponies, Open Intermediate SH, SRT and WHP and Open heritage lead rein, First ridden, Ridden and WHP classes.

THE BLUE RIBAND PONY OF THE YEAR “ This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year, the lst and 2nd prize winners in the Lead Rein, First Ridden OR Open Show Pony OR Open Working Hunter Pony OR

Open Show Hunter Pony Class will qualify and the lst and 2nd in the Intermediate WH. SRT and SH. Owners and riders must be BSPS Members and the pony registered with the BSPS to compete in classes with Blue Riband qualification

THE”BSPS CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS” This Show is a qualifier for Champions of Champions” The Champion in each of the following sections at all BSPS affiliated Summer Qualifying Shows will qualify for the final of the Champion of Champions at the Summer Championships show:- The Mini Show Pony champion and the Mini WHP Champion, the Open show Pony champion, The Open SHP Champion, the Open WHP/WH Champion and Open Intermediate champion will qualify. In mixed height classes the first prize winner will qualify.

BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE This show is a qualifier for the “BSPS Premier League. The qualification for the Premier League will be awarded to the lst 2nd 3rd and 4th placed ponies in the following classes -: Cradle Stakes BSPS Open WHP and Intermediate WH classes and unter andHeritage working hunter pony classes and BSPS Intermediate SRT and SH classes qualify. Open classes that areNOT qualifiers for the RIHS or HOYS and OLYMPIA at BSPS affiliated shows and 1st and 4th in a Mixed Height Open Class (see also rule 452a). The final will be held at the BSPS Summer Championship show.

THE HERITAGE “INDUSTRIAL SALT SUPPLIES WOW FACTOR” Ponies that have been placed first in Open (restricted) Heritage affiliated classes during the Winter and Summer seasons qualify for the “Winners of Winners” at the BSPS Summer Championships Show In Mixed height Open or Open(Restricted) classes the first prize winner will qualify.`

BSHA CLASSES are held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be registered with the Association and all Owners, Exhibitors and Riders must be Association members. Riders must be 15years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on theentry form.

CLASSES 29-31, 33—34 and 36-37 are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify. If the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward .

The three highest placed prize winners in all open affiliated classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National Championship Show in September 2017

DAY TICKETS– Non- members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor per Horse, per Rider, per Season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Amateur, Home Produced, In-Hand, Novice, Working Young Rider and Open affiliated classes only but will NOT allow entry intoRIHS or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form from the BSHA website

Horses competing at the RIHS and qualifying shows in Hunter sections of The Sports Horse Breeding of Great Britain at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB(GB) Ridden Sports Horse classes

The BSHA offer a Novice Amateur and Young Rider Rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section.(with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse &HOYS Hunter classes).

The Association will also award an Amateur Home Produced rosette in all Affiliated Open Cob classes. These rosettes have kindly been sponsored by TSG, Mr. L. Turley and the Maxi Cob rosettes have been kindly sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. E. McCourt. The awards will go down the line; there is no limit on how many of these rosettes can be claimed in a year.

RISING STARS

Any exhibitor placed in the first three in Intermediate classes for Show Riding Type or Show Hunter Type may enter the Rising Star class at the BSHA National Championship Show September 2017. No qualifying cards are required.

SHB(GB) – All Hunter Classes will be judged under the Society’s Rules.

CLASSES 2, 38-41 are qualifying events for the current year Royal International Horse Show and only horse registered on the Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry forms and owners and riders must be members of the Society. The two highest placed horses in each class will qualify to enter the RIHS. In the Working Hunter Class the three highest placed horses will qualify or in the case of two Working Hunter

Classes (i.e Lightweight and Heavyweight) the four horses forward for the Championship will qualify. No lower than second in its Class will qualify. For amateur qualification see paragraph 43 of the rule book

DAY TICKETS =£30 (this entitles competitors to compete at a maximum of 1 show in the year – it covers owners and rider membership together with horse registration for that show). If the class is a qualifying class for RIHS, in order for the qualification to be valid, application for full owner/rider membership and horse registration must be received in the SHB(GB) office within 14 days.

PONIES (UK) - The lst, 2ndand 3rd placed competitors from classes:- 3, 8, 22-25 29-31, 33-34, 36-37, 38-41,

and 60-62 will qualify for 2018 P(UK) Winter Classic, Equiest 2017, BSPA Finals 2017

NO MEMBERSHIP is required to enter or compete in any Championship Final.. orses registered on a day ticket do not require a JMB height ertif.

CHERIF CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES This is a qualifying show for the CHERIF CHAMPIONSHIP 2017. The final will be held at the Cherif Championship Show, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre Addington Bucks on 13th September 2017. All details and qualifying cards at £25. 00 each (payable to Cherif Championship) from: Miss L. the north of england summer show – The Show Pony Open Championship –The Open Show Hunter Pony Champion – the Mountain and Moorland Open Ridden Championship – the Intermediate Open Championship – the Pretty Polly Open Championship – Open Part Bred and Anglo Arab Championship the Hack Championship Cob Championship, the Riding Horse Championship andclass 42 are qualifiers for various Supreme Championships with prize money of £1,000 lst prize and £400 2nd prize atr the North of England Summer Shows at Grantham . If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve will qualify. In class 42 the winner will qualify, if already qualified the 2nd placed pony will qualify – this will only go down to 2nd place.
