CHASE ON COURSE FOR BRAZIER SHOOT-OUT FINALS

Chase Collegiate School of Waterbury Connecticut ran a 65 – 37 over the much improved Wadadli Wilcats to stay yet, the only unbeaten team in the 10th Annual Gillian Brazier Basketball Shoot-Out.

Onyesonam Nolisa continued to dominate every spot on the court for Chase as she clamped another game high 25 points on Monday night at the JSC Sports Complex. Nolisa added 12 rebounds, 7 steals and 4 block shots to her stats. Teammates Sydney Parkmond and Savannah Holness contributed 13 points and 11 points, respectively.

The game started out quite competitively, but by end of the first half Chase had already tamed the young Wildcats 30 -19. Swingman Dahlia Clarke passes to find the open man went awry. Clarke ended the nights affair with 9 points and 4 rebounds. Top scorer for the Wildcats was Kishona Aubrey with 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Tyea Ladoo sank 9 points and pulled 11 boards.

It means that the Wadadli Wildcats have now ended their round of matches 2 and 2, but may still have a chance at the finals depending on the outcome of Tuesday night’ s games between Chase Collegiate School and Big Banana Lady Express, and Lady Vipers and St. Kitts. The other spot in the championship game may very well be decided by Goal average.

However, sufficient support was not fort-coming down the stretch, for only 4 other players contributed in the scoring range. Nyota Peters helped with 18 points, but was 2 short for victory.
