COMRIE GOLF CLUB RULES

General

The rules of golf as fixed from time to time by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, together with any local rules, shall be the rules of play.

The Council has the right to reserve or close the course at any time.

The issue of a membership disc for attaching to a member's golf bag is to ensure that only bona fide members play on the course. Anyone without a disc (or visitor's ticket) should be challenged. In the event of a member's disc being lost or broken, it is the responsibility of the member to obtain a replacement from the Club Manager.

Games consisting of more than four balls are not permitted on the course.

Players who do not start from the first hole, or do not play in strict numerical order of holes, have no standing on-the course and must give way if caught up by the following game.

At all times players who have fallen one clear hole behind must invite the following players to go through.

During the summer months a booking system is run from the Clubhouse. It is advisable for members to telephone for a vacant tee time.

Course Upkeep

Turf removed by an act of playing must always be replaced except on tees.

After bunker shots the sand must always be raked, leaving the bunker in the best possible condition, as you would like to find it. Pitch marks on greens must be repaired.

Dress Rules

Members are expected to conform to the spirit of what is casual but smart. Denim trousers in good condition may be worn but running shorts, singlets, sleeveless or collarless shirts and football team colours are not permitted on the course or in the clubhouse. Ladies may dress according to the fashion of the day but they are expected to conform to the spirit of the above regulations.

Members’ Guests

Each member is entitled to introduce twelve guests per year at the concessionary rate of half the price of green fee.

Members entertaining guest's on concessionary tickets must accompany them during play and a maximum of three tickets will be issued at anyone time. Tickets may not be used for group bookings. The membership booklet must be produced when purchasing concessionary tickets and members should sign in their guests in the book in the clubhouse.

Concessionary tickets are not transferable and guests must display a visitor's ticket on their golf bag. The same guest shall not be introduced more than six times per calendar year whether introduced by the same member or other members.

Juniors may not purchase concessionary tickets.

Social Events

Members and their guests are welcome at all social events.

Insurance

The club has no insurance covering personal property of members, guests of members or visitors either on the course or left in the clubhouse. Nor does it have cover for injury to persons or property caused by members, guests of members or visitors. Members, guests and visitors are advised to respect weather conditions and to take care where parts of the course may have become slippery. All players are advised to have their own insurance.

General

Any member changing address shall notify the same, in writing, to the Club Manager. Failing such intimation, all notices sent to the last notified address should be held as duly delivered.

No unauthorized member shall submit any employee of the club to a personal reprimand.

Members and visitors must comply with any regulations made and exhibited by order of the Council.

Competitions

Gentlemen: Monday Tee-off times: 9.00 am - 9.20 am, 1.30 pm - 2.00 pm and 4.30 pm - 5.30 pm.

A draw for partners will take place for each tee -time. Gentlemen may arrange to play with a partner outside of the morning or afternoon tee times, but will have no standing on the course.

Ladies Nines: Tee-off times: 9.30 am - 10.00 am.

Gents Seniors: Tuesday Tee-off Times: 9.00 am. - Shotgun Start 9 holes.

Monthly Medal Tee-off 1st Tee.

Ladies: Tuesday: Tee-off times: 1.00 pm, 5.00 pm 6.00 pm.

Juniors: Wednesdays Tee-off 5.00 pm.

Competitors teeing off in either of the times above will have priority on the course.

On Monday and Tuesday evenings the course will be closed to visitors after 4.00 pm. Medal players have priority over members.

On the day of strokeplay competitions, it is forbidden to play on the course prior to the competition. It is the condition of entrance to all competitions that a card must be returned, including "no returns". All competitors must play off their current handicaps.

Play should be in threes but may be in twos if it is necessary to ensure all competitors are accommodated. Play in fours is forbidden unless the competition requires this.

On arrival, all intending competitors must enter their names on the competition sheet and pay the competition entry fee.

Additional competitions and start times will be posted on the main notice board and in the Lady's and Men's changing rooms.

Match Play Competitions

The name of the competitor appearing first in any draw sheet is the challenger and they must give their opponent(s) the choice of three dates/times on which to play. The dates must be spread over an eight-day period and one of them must be Saturday or Sunday. Handicap allowance, where appropriate, will apply. In all instances it is hoped that all members will adopt a true sense of sportsmanship, and that mutually acceptable arrangements can be made. The loser in any matchplay round must enter the winner's name on the appropriate competition sheet. Under no circumstances will an extension be granted after the closing round date.

Handicaps Gentlemen

To obtain a handicap Gentlemen must submit three scores, one of which must be in a competition. Cards should be marked by a player holding a current handicap and should be clearly marked "for handicap". They should then be placed in the competition box. All rounds should be played from medal tees.

When playing away from home in a bona fide competition players must return a copy of their gross score, venue, together with the PAR and SSS of the course and the CSS of the day. Failure to do so could result in suspension of handicap. To retain your handicap, members must play in at least THREE competitions during the year.

Handicaps Ladies

To obtain a handicap Ladies must submit three scores. Play must be in twos. Cards should be marked by a player holding a current handicap and should be marked "for handicap". They should then be placed in the competition box. All rounds should be played from medal tees.
