You may find this guidehelpful when completing the application form. The details provided on your application form only will be used during the shortlisting process and as appropriate, the relevant stages of the selection process. You are kindly asked not to submit your Curriculum Vitae.

General points
  • Your application should be completed in typescript or black ink.

Education details and formal qualifications
  • In addition to providing information regarding your formal orprofessional qualifications, please provide details of any continuous professional development or work related training that you have undertaken and if appropriate membership of professional organisations.
  • Some posts do not necessarily require formal qualifications. Please refer to the person specification document relating to the role to which you are applying for clarification.

Employment history
  • Please provide details of your complete employment history, with the most recent first.
  • You may have developed relevant skills through unpaid work, which could have included raising a family, caring for a dependant or voluntary work. Please include these details on your application as appropriate.

Additional information to support your application
  • You are asked to demonstrate why you are suitable for the post. Before completing this section, please refer to the job description and the person specification to assist you.
  • Ensure that you provide specific examples to substantiate your supporting statement. This means; including what you havedone rather that what you would do or what the team did. Please provide examples as evidence of where you demonstrated a particular skill or have particular experience. Please address all of the points identified on the person specification, as best as you can.
  • Make sure that the information you provide is relevant to the job and please be honest.

References
  • Please provide the names of two people from whom references may be sought. One of these should be your present/last employer or educational establishmentas appropriate. References will not be taken up until a provisional offer of employment has been verbally accepted.
  • If you are unemployed, your last employer should be provided as a referee. If you have undertaken voluntary or unpaid work, you should include a contact within that organisation for reference purposes.

Rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974
  • You are asked to confirm if you have at any time received or had pending a court conviction.
  • Failure to reveal information relating to any conviction could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment.

Returning your application form
  • Your form should be returned by the published closing date. If your application arrives after this date and no prior approval has been granted, the Association reserves the right not to include your form in the shortlisting process.
  • Applicants who complete the application form electronically should email the form to the appropriate email contact as detailed in the advert or on our website.
  • Applicants who requested an application pack be sent to them in the post should return the form to the address as provided in the accompanying letter.
  • It is advised that you keep a copy of your form before returning it to us, as you may be asked questions at the interview about the information you have provided.
