Rev. Brooks is grateful to be called to participate in God’s work of proclaiming liberty to the oppressed, giving hope to the hopeless, and encouraging the faithful, for he himself has been through troublesome times and has overcome. He openly shares many of his stories during Sunday worship to encourage others to hold on to their faith.
At a young age, Rev Brooks, often called, Pastor “ J”, knew he wanted to devote his life to being one of God’s shepherds. He excitedly spreads the good news of the Lord and happily proclaims just how good God has been to him, and how his faith in God continues to bring him success.
Recently, Pastor “J” graduated from Northern Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity, where he was the first Dr. John Perkins Scholar graduate. He also holds a degree from Concordia University. Pastor “ J” is also a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and sits on the Board of Directors for Hoops Stars and the Lawndale Christian Legal Clinic.
Pastor “ J” is happily married to Jacqueline ( Lady “J”), a native of Chicago, Il, and an anointed and powerful woman of God who loves serving diligently with her husband. Lady J holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois. She is currently employed as a Heart Transplant Coordinator for Loyola University Medical Center.

Pastor and Lady J are nurturing parents for their two beautiful and energetic daughter, Jaylah and Janay, both of whom actively serve in vital ministries of Harmony.
