Linda Pfaff from Advanced Wireless communication was our guest speaker and she did education on Resident Elopement and basic rules for managing wandering.
Round Robin:
· Discussion on Union-one facility will be having staff picketing, 30 active grievances’, taping conversations during discipline process to cover self, will be implementing the contract even though it is not signed.
· Discussed census and staff turnover in buildings
· Discussed different PIPP’s facilities are involved in, also remodeling projects, EMR, sign on bonus for LPN.
· Point Click Care bought AcuMed, reviewed different education that facilities use, Health Care Academy, Silver chair, Educare.
· Discussion on Bariatric residents. Monthly versus weekly charting and is monthly still a requirement and what is required to be in the monthly charting?
· Reviewed facilities choice of rehab services and difficulty having with them.
· Flu vaccine is available thru McKesson.
· Lisa Bahr updated from membership and publicity we need six more DONs to sign up for give away of Kindle fire if we reach 295 membership. If you are not a member please sign up also please come to the FALL MNDONA conference this week!!!!

The CDC Hand Hygiene Guidance recommends the use of antimicrobial soap in all healthcare facilities. There is no evidence that triclosan contributes significantly to antimicrobial resistance. If you’re looking to change products, I’d suggest you talk with the rep who provides products to your facility – but the soap product should be antimicrobial.
