JOB SUMMARY

This position coordinates, shoots,and edits weekly concert highlights andshort form video content to support the promotional, audience development, and salesefforts of theSan Francisco Symphony.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create video performance highlights for pre and post-concert communications, including shooting rehearsals and concerts, hiring third party camera operators when necessary, editing footage with input from various departments, obtain approvals, and delivering final product internally for dissemination
  • Shoot weekly artist and conductor interviews and b-roll, edit promotional video pieces, web spots and trailers for SFS performances
  • Coordinate and work with outside (out of town) videographers to capture long distance artist interviews; edit interviews for promotional use
  • Special event videography (Summer, Holiday, Chinese New Year, Dia de los Muertos, etc.)
  • Edits existing video footage and materials to support SFS concerts
  • Edit audio files for website and social media
  • Capture occasional rehearsal, performance and backstage photography
  • Work with in-house camera equipment(Canon C300) and editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro CC).
  • Where needed, arrange and coordinate third party work in production and post-production
  • Ensure that all titles, scripts, and content is properly vetted & cleared
  • Manage artist approvals and permissioning of footage
  • Coordinate proper logging, tagging, storage and archiving of video material into Content Management System
  • Establish and maintain quality working relationships with staff and musicians contacted in the course of work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a producer/editor shooting and editing video.
  • Expert-level user of Adobe Creative Suite with experience in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and compression programs. Experience with animation and motion graphics is a plus.
  • Strong camera skills and experience shooting with a variety of camera formats; technical understanding of studio lighting and sound setup.
  • Experience in post-production workflows for effective delivery of sound, images, and music.
  • Deep understanding of the video pre-production, production, and post-production process.
  • Portfolio of production work that demonstrates range of skills and scope of productions.
  • Working knowledge of current industry standard audio/video file formats.
  • Strong ability to set objectives, prioritize and organize tasks and assign resources.
  • Demonstrated technical, creative and professional expertise with a deep commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable – able to frequently re-prioritize, evolve techniques and solutions as needed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Able to exercise discretion and keep strictest levels of confidentiality.
  • Must be a team player and enjoy a collaborative team environment.
  • Available to work extended hours as needed including evenings and weekends and holidays, to meet deadline needs. Flexible hours during the week.
  • Interest in and knowledge of music and the performing arts
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people, calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
