Communication and Support Network

Roles and Responsibilities

WorkInTexas.com Liaisons are appointed by the Executive Director of each Workforce Development Board. There are one to four WorkInTexas.com Liaisons appointed to each Board Area, and these WorkInTexas.com Liaisons jointly make-up the statewide communication and support network.

WorkInTexas.com Liaisons facilitate effective communication between:

Local staff in theirrespective board areas;

State office staff (Workforce Systems Support Desk);

WorkInTexas.com Liaisons in other Board areas; and

Front-end users (Job Seekers and Employers).

WorkInTexas.com Liaisons must have a thorough understanding of the WorkInTexas.comsystem and be capable of providing advanced support to a variety of entities and facilitating successful daily operations using theWorkInTexas.com system. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Facilitate effective communication (liaison to board, liaison to liaison, liaison to local staff, liaison to end user, liaison to state office);
  • Maintaina current understanding of WorkInTexas.com functionality and unresolved system issues;
  • Distribute information, anddirectdetailed questions and requests for assistance to the proper authority;
  • Streamline the resolution process;
  • Find timely and accurate resolutions to WorkInTexas.com related issues; and
  • EnsureWIT system training is ongoing using the WorkInTexas.com Training environment to train existing staff, new staff, or end users, such as employers and/or job seekers.

The Texas Workforce Commission maintains statewide email distribution lists for WorkInTexas.com Liaisons. The steps listed below are required to add, replace, or remove an appointed WorkInTexas.com Liaison:

1)Identify staff with WorkInTexas.com expertise by coordinating with local board or office management staff.

2)Obtain approval or authorization from the Workforce Development Board’s Executive Director.

3)Contact TWC’s NT Administrator to request a Custom Recipient Address for newly appointed WorkInTexas.com Liaisons. (Only authorized staff can make these requests.)

4)Once the Custom Recipient Address has been assigned, email the Executive Director’s approval for the WorkInTexas.com Liaison change along with complete Contact Information for the appointee to:.
