Parent Teacher Conference:
Parent Teacher Conference will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in the Gym Arena Style. Conferences begin at 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., each conference is 5 minutes.
Afterschool Tutorial:
On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, students can sign-up for Afterschool Tutoring. Students can receive supplemental academic support for Math, English, Science and Social Studies. Tutorial hours are Mon., Tues., Thurs. and Fri. from 2:55 – 3:55. Students can receive additional information during their lunch hours.
Gender Assemblies:
On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, all students will attend a Gender Assembly 2nd hour males in the Gym. All females will attend an assembly in the Cafeteria. The purpose of the assembly is to discuss behavior and social norms and expectations of students while their care in school. Facilitators will be CMA Staff, Social Worker, Counselors and Coaches, etc.
Dismissal Precautions and Safety Tips:
Last week there was an incident where a student was attacked by some outsiders on Grand River and St. Marys. Students must remain in front of the St. Marys exit door while waiting on their ride. This is the only way we can keep an eye on the students. Please instruct your child not to go to the party store on St. Marys and Fenkell and Grand River and St. Marys.
Cold Weather Dress Code:
Parents and students please be mindful of the change in season. Students should begin wearing layers. All shirts must be solid color Black, White, and Purple. No outer jackets or 0fleece will be allowed.
Replacement Bus Cards:
Students that lose their Bus Card will not receive a replacement card until second semester. Parents can purchase Bus Cards through Detroit Department of Transportation.
Locker Safety:
All students are required to have a combination lock on their lockers. The school is not responsible for items left in a unsecured locker.
Yearbook Pictures:
On Thursday, October 30, 2014 Motown Portrait Studio will take underclassmen and staff pictures. Any seniors that have not taken Cap & Gown pictures may do so. There is a sitting fee of $35.00.
Report Cards:
Quarter one Report Cards will be distributed during 6th hour class on Friday, November 14, 2014.
Halloween Dance:
On Friday, October 31, 2014, CMA will host a Halloween Relaxed Dress Day/Dance from 1:30 – 3:30 in the Gym. Students must wear soft bottom shoes. Costumes may be worn to the dance only. Relaxed dress tickets/dance is $5.00. Tickets include refreshments and music provided by D.J. Good Boi.

Supplemental Lunch Survey:
Any student that submits a Supplemental Survey Lunch form will receive a Free Dress ticket to be used on Friday, October 31, 2014.

Winter Sports
Winter sports are quickly approaching. Any students interested in participating in boys or girls basketball, or boys swim, must have a physical on file and meet the academic requirements to participate.
