Commitment of Bernards Township to Participate in the
PARIS Grant with Somerset County
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the County of Somerset has agreed to apply for a PARIS Grant in the amount of $260,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the County of Somerset is acknowledging and accepting the responsibility of acting as applicant for this grant; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body the of Township of Bernards is acknowledging and accepting the responsibility for participating in this County Shared Services Demonstration Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Township of Bernards is appointing Denise Szabo, Municipal Clerk to serve as the primary point of contact for purposes of the County Shared Services Demonstration Grant; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey has made PARIS grants available to assist county and municipal governments in their records management, preservation and storage efforts; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is to conduct an archives and records management needs assessment and strategic plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Board of the Township of Bernards that we do hereby support and commit to participation in the PARIS County Shared Services Demonstration Grant for the purpose cited above.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENTThis resolution commits Bernards Township to participating in the Paris Grant application with Somerset County and twenty other Somerset County municipalities. The Paris Grant is offered by the NJ Division of Archives and Records Management and will provide us with full funding to conduct a needs assessment and strategic plan for our local records management, preservation and storage of records efforts.
