I-Length
First of all, your story might be quite short. Try to keep it grammatically simple as well, so that it is easy to follow. Make it easy for the reader to understand by using sequencing and linking words:
II- Sequencing words
These words show the chronological sequence of events.
First of all : D’abord
Previously : avant
Then… : ensuite
Later (on)… : plus tard
Finally… : finalement
III- Linking words and location words
Use these words to link your ideas for the listener. Linking words can be used to show reason, result, contrasting information, additional information, and to summarize. Location words help you add more situational information in your story.
Because…. : parce que
So…: donc…
And : et…
Avec : with…
Assez : rather
Alors : so
Dans : in…
Sur : on..
Sous : under…
À côté de : next to…
À gauche de : on the left of…
À droite de : on the right of…

IV- Question words
You can use questions to begin a question or as linking words (ex: I don’t know why I am here)
How much : combien
How : comment
Why : pourquoi
Where : où
Who: qui
When : quand
V- Tenses
If you only know the present tense, no worries! You can use the present in many situations to tell stories and anecdotes. Jokes are often in the present tense.We also use the present tense to give a dramatic narrative effect.
However, you are also familiar with the future tense, so you can add a chronological order to your story.
VI- Vocabulary
Try to use a wide range of words to make your story more interesting. Remember that you can "exaggerate" when you tell a story, so instead of using words like "nice" or "bad", experiment with more interesting words, such as "beautiful", "fabulous", "wonderful", "horrible", "awful" or "terrible".
Remember to use as much of the vocabulary as you know to enhance your story.

Finally – remember that you are telling a story – not giving a lecture.

MA PREMIERE HISTOIRE
C’est le mois d’Avril ! Le printemps arrive !
Je suis très content parce que j’adore le printemps. C’est ma saison préférée.
Au Colorado, il fait encore froid en Avril et il y a encore de la neige. Mais les arbres et les fleurs commencent à arriver.
Les animaux sortent de leur hibernation, et nous, les étudiants, nous devenons très dynamiques !
Mes amis et moi, nous allons à la piscine au printemps. Nous adorons nager et nous amuser ensemble.
Mon amie Cécile est trèsathlétique. Elle nage très vite parce qu’elle a des grands pieds et des longs bras. Moi, je nage assez bien mais je suis petit donc je ne suis pas rapide.
Le Dimanche, ma famille va au parc pour faire un pique-nique quand il ne neige pas. S’il fait chaud, nous mangeons de la glace pour le dessert.
Pendant la semaine, je vais à l’école et le soir je joue au basket. Je me couche tard au printemps parce qu’il fait noir plus tard. Dans ma chambre, je n’ai pas de rideaux, alors je ne peux pas dormir quand il y a du soleil.
Voilà ! J’adore le printemps parce que c’est une saison ou on peut faire beaucoup de choses à l’extérieur. Dans ma maison, il n’y a pas beaucoup de choses à faire. C’est ennuyeux. Je n’aime pas beaucoup lire ou regarder la télévision alors l’hiver est très,très long pour moi. Mais maintenant, c’est enfin le printemps, c’est fantastique !
