1. 2013 General meeting minutes accepted by Peet Botha seconded by Keith Boehme and meeting

2.1 to save time all club chairman to email club reports to Susan Koekemoer to post on website. NK makes mention that we are the biggest union of 480 members yet as a province GE not fully represented at the AGM at Fauresmith. Call for more members to attend AGM.

2.2 GT Gower presents ride master report. GE has 8 ride masters at present. 2 new rides in GE – Mogale 80km and Rayton 40km. GT states that he has submitted resignation to ERASA as FS ride master. Full report on GE website.

2.3.1 Alan Browne presents LW report for FS as Pieter Voges SAIC team manager resigned after SAIC Parys. Alan mentions that the great sense of camaraderie was prevalent at FS amongst all team managers and everyone went out of their way to help team members and FS team managers. Only 1 LW rider completed FS – Thia de Wet. Thanked BABOR for R12000.00 clothing sponsorship. LW team achieved 3rd place at SAIC.

2.3.2 Willie Watermeyer presents HW report. SAIC Parys only 1 rider finished. FS 7 riders to select from 3 complete FS and team achieves 4th position

2.3.3 Laura Woods presents Std weight report. No team at SAIC as non met criteria. FS 3 finish leaving no team result

2.3.5 No Development team report

INGRID CILLIERS thanked for being a brilliant team vet at Fauresmith and for spending the 5 days with the team at her own expense.

2.4 Full Treasurer Report on website. R70000 funds required per annum by GE. Still have R20000 shortfall after ride levies and affiliation fees. Only 2 outstanding rides for 2014 – Mogale and Thaba. Requested that clubs pay GE R3000 “donation” as requested. Thaba, Mogale and Premier already paid.

Alan Browne(AB) enquires as to the levy and affiliation fees for 2015. With new SAEF changes NK suggests that we may have to keep endurance provincial levies in clubs affiliation fee and account. Fees sill to be confirmed.

2.5 Presidents report on website: Alan Browne congratulates NK on great first year as President

3.0 AB proposes that changes to the constitution follow the changes required by the SAEF without special meeting being called.

Kobus Breed (KB) GE constitution is subject to the ERASA constitution and by so doing if ERASA changes constitution GE should automatically change without special meeting being called.

3.1 Motions to change days required to submit nominations, make nominations public and call for nominations accepted by Peet Botha seconded by Alan Browne

4. SAEF – Dewald Viljoen President of SAEF kind enough to address meeting.

NK introduction:

ERASA in discussions with SAEF. Last Thursday Gideon and Niel went to SAEF offices to discuss the way forward. ERASAs structure as a discipline accepted. Structure at National, provincial and club level accepted with rules and regulations.

ERASA now called a “technical committee” under SAEF national structure.

ERASA funding still to be negotiated, no clarity as yet. Still sensitive negotiations regarding fee structure and how each discipline will function. Some council members do not want to be associated with SAEF. Next council meeting first week in November.

Dewald Viljoen:

2005 SASCOC is announced as new sports governing body of ALL sports

Should ERASA not join SAEF:

Will not be able to belong to FEI

Will not get National, Regional or Provincial colours

No recognition for achievements

In 2012 SASCOC president announced new Management Structure Plan and where the geopolitical boundary - membership issue was put forward and which is non-negotiable.

Structure is as follows: clubs elect regional president, from regional presidents a provincial president is elected, this provincial president then sits on SAEF executive (9 Provincial Presidents thus sit on SAEF council) SANESA (schools) Disabled association, Defence and Correctional services all have 1 vote on council and are Associate members. All club chairman represented at regional level.

14 disciplines now called technical committees

All discipline budgets will only be confirmed for 2015 in December as funds already allocated until end 2014

Fees: Affiliation fees paid to SAEF. All ride levies go back to discipline and are ring-fenced for THAT discipline as in the past

Francois vd Westhuizen: will selection criteria then only be decided at regional level and NOT by ERASA (technical committee).

Will honorary colours still be awarded? DV: Protea colours will only be awarded for 160km senior 120km YR and 3 countries have to compete.

Naming will change to SA Endurance colours and not ERASA colours. The association wording in ERASAs name a problem for SAEF.

GT Gower: if 9 Presidents on SAEF council have no interest in endurance how will the discipline of Endurance have its interests promoted?

DV: if topic of endurance has to discussed at council level the technical committee (ERASA) will be co-opted to meeting

Question regarding quotas: DV: as in all sport transformation will be enforced. You as individual can still fight your case in courts should you feel you are being treated unfairly.

Kobus Breed: will Provincial structure stay the same?

DV: remains as is and slots in as technical committee at provincial level.

Kobus Breed thanks Dewald Viljoen for attending negotiations with ERASA otherwise riders would not get national colours for their achievements.

5. SAIC 2015 will be held at Sondela. Charmaine mentions that she will try and make the 1*,2* and 3* races all part of 1 event to reduce FEI charges. SAIC dates 5 May 2015 80km/160km 6 May 2015 120km

6.1 Susan Koekemoer elected as vice President

6.2 Laura Woods elected secretary

6.3 Elsabe Potgieter elected additional member

7.NK will forward all new information regarding SAEF especially how funds will be allocated to clubs as discussions progress.
