BAPTISMS
Baptisms are every Sunday at 1:00 PM. Parents are asked to call the Parish Center and speak with the Priest or Deacon who is on call and who will assist them in registering their child for Baptism. The Church assists the parents by offering instruction on the meaning, importance, and responsibilities of the sacrament of Baptism. A Pre-Jordan Baptismal Program for helping parents prepare for the spiritual birth of their child is held on the fourth Sunday of the month in the Spirituality Center following the Noon Mass.

Dear Parishioners,
40 Hours + Eucharistic Exposition
Our annual 40 Hours will be held this week on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (March 8, 9 & 10).
The Eucharist will be in Exposition today (Sunday) from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM; Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. (Should there be a funeral the Exposition will be moved to the Chapel in the Spirituality Center until after the Funeral.)
There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM on each evening of the 40 Hours. The homilist will be Father Kenneth Brabazon who is the Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
40 Hours + LENTEN SCRUTINY
(Examination of Conscience)
40 Hours during the season of Lent provides a wonderful place for to pray and reflect on our Lenten journey to Easter and new life. The season of Lent calls us to prayerfully scrutinize our lives.
During Lent, the RCIA Elect celebrate three scrutiny rites. These scrutiny rites are a way that the Church seeks to introduce these people into our way of examining our conscience. Throughout the season of Lent, we are called to examine our conscience, aware of our Baptismal calling to be followers of Jesus. Many Catholics examine their consciences not only before going to confession but each evening before praying an act of contrition.
During the season of Lent, this examination of conscience is called a scrutiny. Scrutiny means to examine closely. During Lent, we ask God to help us take a close look at our lives and to help us see (1) what is upright and good within them so that they may be strengthened by God’s grace, and (2) to see what is weak, defective, and sinful in them so that these areas of their lives may be healed, fixed, and forgiven by the Lord’s life-giving mercy.
Scrutinizing our lives in this way opens the mind, heart, and soul to the presence and grace of Jesus who seeks to grace us with Easter and new life.
Promoting – Recognizing Saint Anselm School
I invite everyone in the parish to become more familiar with our school and to see the academic excellence that is offered in a setting permeated with Gospel values.
All families with preschool age children and all families who have elementary age children are invited to come and take a tour of our school while it is in session. Please extend this invitation to anyone you know.
Tours in our school can be arranged by calling the school at 215-632-1133.
Shadow Program – Saint Anselm School
Saint Anselm School has a “Shadow Program” whereby students in grades 1 to 7 from other schools may visit a particular grade for the day in Saint Anselm School. The purpose of this program is to allow children from other schools to visit us to see if they would like to become part of our student body. To arrange a “Shadow Day” at our school, please call the office at 215-632-1133.
God bless you,
Father Dunleavy

We will meet at 7 PM in the Spirituality Center. Come once, twice, or every week!
2015 Catholic Charities Appeal
Through the Catholic Charities Appeal we are called to be attentive to people in need and to show care for them. Individually, we can do a little; together, as a Church, we can do much.
As a Church, we “do” Catholic Charities because we are Catholic. We seek to imitate Jesus who served and responded to the needs of all who came to him.
Everyone is asked to prayerfully consider your contribution which will help the Church respond to the need and reach the funding goal of $10 million dollars.
For those who have contributed in the past, the Church is most grateful and asks you to contribute again this year. For those who have never contributed, I ask you to try to do so this year. For us to reach our goal and impact the lives of so many, we need everyone to do their share. With a heart like Jesus, whose love supported and graced the lives of so many, we can do the same.
Please note that the Catholic Charities Appeal is being conducted as a “mail-in” appeal. Please use the envelope you received and mail it with your gift. Thank you.

“Thank You”
Since my father’s death on February 17th, so many of you have sent me notes & Mass cards for which I am very grateful. Thank you, also, to those who came to my dad’s viewing or funeral Mass. My family was deeply edified to see the support of so many St. Anselm parishioners. In these difficult days, it has been a great consolation for me to be a part of this community, which cares for one another so genuinely. Thank you! Fr. Friel
