  1. From Robyn Mathes: Note from Neal Donop:

We plan to have riders escort the Wall from the TA Center on I-35 north of New Braunfels to the Tree of Life Church campus on May 25th. Currently, the staging time is 2:30pm, pending confirmation from the organization bringing the Wall to New Braunfels. We will not have an escort when the Wall leaves the church campus on June 5th.

I need to have an estimate of the number of participants in the escort, so in early May I will ask for estimate numbers from each participating group.

As for guard duty, this is open to veterans, active and reserve duty military, and law enforcement. The following link is to the schedule and sign-up service that I've put together to make the sign up process more accessible.

Here is the link:

You may forward this link to interested parties. If your organization would like to take a block of time to provide guards, send the times and day(s) of your choice. You will notice on the link above that there are some times that do not appear on the sign-up site. This is because those times and days have already been reserved by groups who are providing guard duty. For example, from 1 am May 27th to 1 am May 31st, the Wounded Warrior organization from this area is providing the guards for guard duty. On June 1st from 9 am to 5 pm, the DAV from Seguin is providing the guards for guard duty.

We want to have four people on duty during each shift. Each shift will be two hours. Individuals are welcome to sign up for one or more shifts. Guards are also able to sign up for consecutive shifts. Guard duty will begin on May 25th at 3pm and continue until we take the Wall down on June 5th at 3pm.

  1. Butch reintroduced Connie Davisfrom Woods Cycle Country. He thanked her for all her support and the Club wished her success in her new adventure. Further stated that the Club was bestowing an honorary membership to her (minus voting rights), and invited her to come visit us any time she wished.
  2. Butch informed the Club that a $50.00 donation to Grace Memorial Church was being made in Terry Perring’s name. Further discussion touched on if anyone needed to talk to someone, most of the club members were willing and able to listen. It was stressed that this Club is more than a motorcycle riding club, it is an extended family for all of us.
  3. The topic of having a chase car/trailer ride out with the group was discussed. Even though it was agreed that the Club would not formally supply one, anyone that was interested in performing that was more than welcome to do so. It was stressed that to make sure you have some type of towing rider on your insurance, a AAA membership, etc. in case of a breakdown.
  4. KennPaulini offered up the usage of a new sissy-bar luggage pack if anyone needed one for the long rides.
  5. Bruce Lovely shared information regarding Club member Vance Zider’s Daytona Beach Bike Week video that was filmed by Harley Davidson. He has sent it to members and also posted it on the Meetup Site under files.
  6. John Palermo addressed the issue with some members not receiving Meetup Emails, the reasons why, and the steps to correct it. Basically if you had been receiving group emails and no longer receive them, it’s a good indication that something is awry with your Meetup Profile email address – not to be confused with your Comal River Rider’s Club profile. The fix is to go into your Meetup Profile and re-enter your email address. Even if it appears correct, by re-entering it, it will reset and clear the email delivery issue. Any questions, please contact John.
  1. Gift Card Drawing –25.00 gift card to Woods - Barbara May
  2. Connie Davis – drew Mike Price’s name – congrats!
  1. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm

Respectfully
