First, start by doing a “save as” of this document as A6_Michael McMahon What I learned

It is never too early to start thinking about the final project. Developing a professional production notebook takes time, a lot of time. It is not something you can start a week before the due date and expect to do well. Have the final project in mind from the first week of class.

As an individual, you will revise and refine the elements that you have already turned in. The project must be for an educational, marketing, public relations, sales or training purpose. You may use Word, a wiki, Acrobat, or any other technology you choose to create your final production notebook.

The final product must be a have a professional presentation and appearance. The delivery format does not influence the final grade, your professionalism does. Make this a product you would be proud to show a client or a future employer.

Include the following:

  1. Goal statement
  2. Audience analysis
  3. Objectives
  4. Content outline
  5. Flowchart
  6. Treatment
  7. Template Storyboards[i] (4) for the main menu, submenu, information page and splash screen design.
  8. Content Storyboards (15 minimum)
  9. Reflection on the process.

Learning Reflection – (2-3 paragraphs)

As an individual, what did you learn and how did you learn it? What would you do different next time? Did you have any “Ah Ha” moments? Describe them. What do you need to know more about? Any other comments or concern?

I learned a great deal about how to organize my project to keep all my information in one place. I found the value of documenting changes that I made writing notes about what did not work about a site when it had been tested, what things worked with a site when tested. The structure laid out by the book helped realize the importance of working in a team the book gives great ideas but working in a team environment really helps solidify and speed up the progress. There are so many ways to bring in the information before you begin having a group take on chucks of that information and laying it out together in invaluable. That had to be my Ah Ha moment. As it has been said no one person is an island.
