Secretary’s Report by Vince Kumagai – KI0RB

Colorado QRP Club recaps of 2011 hamfest attendance. The year was a great success with the final event being the Denver Radio Club swap meet. Most of the home brew parts and accessories from Gabe Seller’s, W2ZGB SK member #12, estate sale was sold. For its help in conducting the sale for Gabe’s family the club was rewarded by the donation of two radios from the estate. An Elecraft K2 and a Heath Kit H-9 are now part of the club’s “lending equipment”. Both radio’s have been checked and are in fine working condition. Any QRP member in good standing is eligible to check out the equipment.

OLD BUSINESS

Marshall Emm N1FN has been attending to the sale of keys belonging to Ira Siegel KA2RCS SK. There are still some keys available for sale.

There is a question as to the disposition of the two QRP class awards for the Pikes Peak Radio Amateurs Summer QSO party. At the July meeting the club passed a motion to sponsor the QRP Single Operator CW and QRP single operator Mixed awards. Each award cost was $60 and all that was needed was to contact the PPRAA via their web site and pay for the awards. Vince Kumagai was to contact Roger Wendell to accomplish the purchase for the club.

Sunday December 11 is the date for the CQC Great Colorado Snowshoe Sprint.

NEW BUSINESS

Social Media by Vince Kumagai KI0RB

A straw poll was taken to see if the Colorado QRP Club should explore expansion in to social media with the club’s internet presences. The result of the poll expressed an interest in Facebook and Twitter as new areas to explore. Vince Kumagai will take an action item to engage Roger Wendell, the club webmaster, in the social media area.

Meeting adjourned.
