Code of Conduct

1. Players:

  • Play for fun – not just to please your parents or coach.
  • Be Fair. Play by the rules. No rules – no game.
  • Do not argue or talk back to referees. No referee no game!
  • Never give up. Play until the final whistle.
  • Be a good sport. Recognise good sportsmanship – even when it comes from the other team.
  • Try and improve your skill.
  • Co-operate with your team, the referee and your opponents.
  • You are ambassadors for Collingham FC please act and behave accordingly.

2. Parents and Spectators:

  • Praise effort and performance more than results.
  • Praise good behaviour quickly to show that adults value it.
  • Applaud good play – by either team.
  • Do not shout at a child if they make a mistake.
  • Do not argue with the referee or question his/her decision – remember he/she is a volunteer and giving up his/her spare time.
  • Stay off the pitch – do not interfere, let the referee deal with any situations on the field of play.
  • Do not use foul or abusive language towards the players, officials or spectators.
  • Respect the decisions of the managers and coaches.
  • You are ambassadors for Collingham FC please act and behave accordingly.
  • Above all, enjoy the game and encourage your child as well.

3. Managers and Coaches

  • Be reasonable! Do not demand too much.
  • Teach children to play by the Rules/Laws – and be sure they understand why.
  • Treat all players equally and fairly.
  • Never condemn. Do not shout at a player for making a mistake.
  • Give praise when it is deserved and positive feed back.
  • Keep your players active, minimise the information you tell them and maximise their activity.
  • Injured players need a rest, follow medical advice and do not play them until they are fit.
  • It is your players who matter. Invest your time in their well - being.
  • Keep yourself informed on the principles of sound coaching. Understand the way children grow and develop.
  • Do not use foul or abusive language towards the players, officials or spectators.
  • Stay of the pitch unless the referee instructs you.
  • You are ambassadors for Collingham FC please act and behave accordingly.

Club Child Protection Statement

Collingham Football and Sports Club’s Child Protection Policy is written in line with the FA policy. The Club’s aims are:

  • To develop a positive and proactive position in order to best protect all children and young people who play football, enabling them to participate in an enjoyable and safe environment.
  • To deliver quality assured child protection training and to facilitate its delivery, in conjunction with, and supported by the NSPCC.
  • To demonstrate best practice in the area of child protection.
  • To promote ethics and high standards through the Club.
