“Colliewobbles’ FUN DOG CLUB SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2016

I am sorry with the delay writing the latest newsletter, all I can say is it is nice to know that you look forward to receiving them.

Superdog Fun Day on 4th September was a great success and we have another Superdog in Missy with Lynne Calder which join Nemi and James and me with Chad in the elite ColliewobblesSuperdog Club. Many thanks to Mrs Betty Bantin for allowing us to use her paddock, sadly, this year, Betty did not feel well enough to come out and spend too much time with us but did watch from her conservatory. She is always impressed at how well behaved all the dogs are and what fun they are having. This from a retired show breeder! I will be putting some photos (many thanks James) and the score sheets on the website in due course. Well done to you all, George and I hope you enjoyed the day. The weather was a little iffy on and off but luckily the rain held off. Thank you for helping run the events. The only problem we had was on the timing so next year we will have a short session on how to complete the score sheets. It was always my dream to run a day like this for club and ex club members and now it has happened! We also raised over £100 for dog charities so thank you for supporting the club again this year.

We have had lots of new people and dogs joining so welcome to you all and we hope you enjoy your time with us.

Congratulations to all those that have passed their KCGCDS Puppy Awards!

Sunday 25th September is the KCGCDS Bronze test at The Brent good luck to all participants.

Sunday 9th October we will be having KCGCDS Gold and Silver tests at The Brent.

Tuesday 11th October we will be having more KCGCDS Gold Tests.

All these will be assessed by Mrs Lynn Thomas. I will be letting all candidates know at which assessment they are in with times etc. later this month. Please do not feel under pressure because we work with dogs and sometimes they will and sometimes they won’t so chill and enjoy!

November 6th will be the next club walk as we have had to cancel the October walk as the road to the lakes is closing for the Tonbridge Half Marathon until mid-afternoon.

Htm next class is 5th October at West Peckham from 12.30 to 2pm and costs £10. The trainer is Louise Ince of Canine Performers and new comers are welcome. For those already attending we will be working on the Movement Development Scheme and for those that have completed this you will be working on your progress award or competition routine.

12th October sees the re-opening of the Hever class at 1pm. The hire charge has risen since we left but I am keeping the charges the same at £7 per session but paid monthly. There is no class the first Wednesday in the month as we have Htm classes.

The Chiddingstone Causeway Hall is slowly taking shape but it does look like we will not be returning until after Christmas. Can’t wait to return and have all the Wednesday classes back under one roof with PARKING. I appreciate that we found halls to use during the long 18 months but Chiddingstone Causeway is our home. For those that were with me in the beginning this is where the Colliewobbles first started running classes over 10 years ago. Incredibly I still have handlers and dogs who were with me in the beginning.

There will be two Halloween parties 25th and 26th October when both classes will come together 7.30 to 9.30 pm for fun and games. Unfortunately, I will not be there for the Wednesday evening but Jenny has offered to run it for me. There will not be food just fun and games with our dogs.

Update!!!!

Congratulations to Davina with Katie, Sue with Obie, Matthew with Ziggy, Chris with Tegan, Kay with Jack, Tara with Mini and Michaela with Midge who all passed their Bronze this morning.

……. the Almighty….hath invested (the dog) with a nature noble and incapable of deceit.
