Collegiate 4-H Meeting

December 6, 2008

Rita Boeglin called the meeting to order. The American Pledge was led by Tyler Cotterman and the 4-H pledge by Dougie Schnur. The minutes from the last meeting were approved, seeing no corrections.

Old Business

Dougie talked about the root beer float social we had on the 15th. There were games, Charles won in pool, there were about 20 people, and Dougie won the Apples to Apples.

Steve announced that Carlita finished the Regional Conference research project which included the before and after results. Overall, it was announced the Grad Student Session went very well.

Four people are signed up right now to attend the National Conference in Denver.

We have some Officer Trainings in January, so be looking forward to attending those! Also, the Officer Training Training will be held on Thursday, January 17th at 6:30 in Lilly 3-118. There will be pizza!

Ryan carried around a hat to collect money for our Christmas shopping.

New Business

A Super Bowl party will be held at Sarah and Julia’s house on February 3rd.

Ice skating with the club will be on February 7th after the meeting and we will be meeting behind Lilly at about 7:30.

Dougie volunteered to chair our Spring Fest committee. Other volunteers included Dustin, Tyler, Chelsea, Rita, and Warrick Co. 4-Hers. They will discuss fundraising opportunities and we need to know by Feb. 14th. Tentative meeting dates will be Dec. 13th, Jan. 9th, and Feb. 14th. The actual Spring Fest will be April 12th and 13th and we will be set up in front of the AGAD building.

Amanda Armstrong voted with a second from Ryan, to help run the concession stand for the State Horse Bowl/Hippology Event on Sat. March 29th. This will be a fundraising opportunity for the club as we serve 300 youth lunch.

A PowerPoint presentation of our Regional Conference that Kala Hash and Kala Nicholson put together was shown.

Our 4-H polos are in. If you haven’t picked yours up, you can pick them up from Keith Carrell.

Steve mentioned that the OMK lab would be set up in the RCA dome on Jan. 2nd to help send off over 3000 soldiers.

Next meeting will be Thursday, January 10th at 7:00 P.M. in Lilly 3-118.This will be our GREAT CHILI COOKOFF spring callout.
