ECCE: Experiential and Service Learning: Internship (IPL:300)
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Are you ready for the Internship Experience?
You must have at least 80 credit hours
12-15 credit hours of your CBM College Core coursework must be completed
- Internship consists of work in the Internship position (you must work 50 hours per each credit hours (ex. 6 credit hours= 300 working hours) andcomplete the IPL 300 Internship course.
- 3 Credit hours minimum is required (2013 catalog and later) and up to 6 credit hours is recommended. Check with your Academic or Faculty Advisor to see how many hours you need to fulfill your ECCE requirements.
- The deadline to enroll for the Fall and Spring Semesters is the first week (Friday) of the semester. The deadline to enroll in Internship for the Summer semester is the first day of the semester.

- Clerical work will not be accepted, you must be completing Bachelor level work
- No credit will be awarded for prior learning
IF YOU WANT TO USE YOUR CURRENT JOB FOR THE INTERNSHIP
- Contact Dr. Branson (ACC: ); Dr. Hadidi (MIS:) or Dr. Ferk (all other CBM Programs ).
- This is possible but you must take on a new project or new responsibilities at your current place of employment for the Internship.
- Upon receiving confirmation that your current job is acceptable, complete steps 2-5 below depending on your program.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FINDING A NEW INTERNSHIP
- Contact Dr. Branson (Accounting: ); Dr. Hadidi (MIS: ) or Dr. Ferk (all other CBM Programs ). Start looking for an internship:
- For approved internships in the Springfield area go online or visit the Internship Office in BRK 482:
- If you are not in the area, utilize networking and internship/job search sites to identify an internship
- For Business Administration, Marketing, Management and Sport Management majors only: You must complete the business student preparation, and then proceed to step 3 to submit the application.
- Once you have an internship, complete the Internship Project Outline (Application). Submit the Project Outline to your Academic Advisor by the Friday before the semester begins. Late Project Outlines may result in you having to delay your Internship until the following semester. Please note: For this form your Academic Advisor is either Dr. Branson (Accounting) or Dr. Hadidi (MIS) or Dr. Ferk (BUS, ECO, MGT, MKT, SPM).

- Once your application is approved, Internship Office will give you a CRN, and you can register for the course.
