1.  Laboratory investigations and seroepidemiology of viral hepatitis.

2.  Prevalence and association of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) with liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

3.  Flu viruses: molecular epidemiology pathogenesis and Lab. diagnosis.

4.  Viral hemorrhagic fever, pathogenesis, transmission and prevention.

5.  Co-investigator of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) supported project: Hearing impairment among Saudi infants and children: An epidemiological and etiological study (1986).

6.  Principle investigator of a project entitled “The molecular epidemiology of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Britain”. This project has been supported by KACST for two years (March 1997-March 1999).

7.  Co-investigator of KACST supported project (No.10-26) for one year (January 2006 – December 2006): The prevalence of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) exposure in skin disease patients.
