College Counseling Announcements for Seniors: The Pulsifer College Counseling Center will be closed after exams throughJanuary 3rd. Students received an email from their college counselor that includes the following information:

1) Be sure to check in with your college counselor before exams. This applies to both students who have already sent early applications as well as those who have yet to apply. If you have not already applied, please complete your senior questionnaire and have your parents send the completed Parent Response Form to your counselor.

2)Pleasebe aware thatDecember 9this the in-house deadline to request transcripts for all colleges with deadlines in early January (1/1 - 1/5). This means you must move these colleges to your "Colleges I'm Applying To" List in Naviance and request transcripts. These schools must also be in your Common Application list by the 9th as well. You do not need to submit these applications until their actual deadline, but what your counselor needs to send on your behalf will be taken care of before we leave for break. This applies to students waiting on an early decision school as well (see #3).

3) For students who applied Early Decision, please inform your counselor of the decision as soon as you can so we know not to send out your documents to additional colleges. If you are admitted Early Decision and are not waiting on financial aid information, be sure to enroll at the school and withdraw all of your other applications from your early action schools (email works just fine for this purpose).

4) If you have already submitted early applications, the Pulsifer College Counseling Center will now begin sending teacher recommendations for regular decision schools. This saves you the step of having to track teachers down with the rest of your college list. However, if you have not yet applied anywhere, the teachers writing for you are still required to send their letters. These teachers will need a list of colleges and deadlines ASAP so they can get everything off before they go on break.

5) Be sure to send test scores to regular decision colleges that require them. It is fine to wait until early application decisions come back before you send additional score reports.

6) PLEASE let your counselor know when you hear any news (good or not so good) from colleges. It helps us tremendously to know what is happening with you and how we can continue to provide support.
