Once you have a name and logo, create a business card for yourself. While most people think of advertising as involving print ads in magazines or newspapers or commercials on the radio or television, advertising has the potential to take on many other forms. Even a simple business card is a form of advertising.

Identification:A business card is generally a rectangular piece of cardstock or other heavy paper with the name and phone number of a business person and his company. In some cases, the business card also contains a physical, email or website address.

Size: The standard size for business cards is 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches high.

Function: A business card is meant to provide prospective customers--or people who might refer your business--with the information required to contact you.

Feature: In order to be effective, a business card should stand out in some way. It may be brightly colored, emblazoned with your photograph, embossed or folded. The style of the card normally matches your line of business.

Variation: Some people provide business cards that contain a coupon or are mounted on an object that the recipient is liable to keep, such as a letter opener, pocket calendar or football schedule.

Include the following information in your business card:

  1. Restaurant name and logo
  2. Your name and business title (are you the president, CEO, head chef?)
  3. Address, phone number
  4. Other contact info.
