Notes:

Scholarships: Financial awards that students do not have to repay. These can be awarded based on need, academic merit, academic concentration, interests, or a host of other criteria.

Grants: Financial awards that students do not have to repay. Funds awarded to an individual usually by the government for educational purposes.

Work Study: Financial aid award that provides part-time on-campus employment to undergraduates and graduates to help with college expenses. Students receive these funds in the form of pay in a work study employment position.

Student Loans: Financial resources students apply for and are responsible to repay. Loans come in two categories: Subsidized (government pays interest while student is enrolled) and Unsubsidized (student is responsible for all interest). Federally-funded loans differ from alternative/private loans in regards to terms, conditions, and interest rate.
