Nominations Open for CADRE Emergency Preparedness Award

Each year CADRE seeks to honor a non-profit organization and individuals whohaveshown innovative efforts and leadership related to emergency preparedness planning. We are seeking those organizations and individualswho have led the way in preparing themselves and/or other agencies to successfully plan for or recover from a disaster. The CADRE Leadership Committee will review nominations and select one organization or individualwhose efforts stand out as inspirational and exemplary. Either of these nominations could be from a large or small agency, religious or secular, and do not have to be a member of CADRE.

Please take a moment to help CADRE identify an organization or individualthat you feel has done some good work in planning for emergencies. We want to identify and honor the work that they do.

If you have an organization or individual in mind please submit the attached for to CADRE so we may give them the recognition they deserve.Submissions are due by Monday March 24th, 2014.

The Award will be presented at the 9th Annual CADRE ‘Together We Do Better’ conference on April 9th at the NASA Ames Conference Center (NACC) at Moffett Field in Sunnyvale. This conference brings together Santa Clara County non-profit and government agencies to share and improve emergency preparedness and coordination efforts and attracts a full house of nearly 300 participants each year.

The CADRE network is led by a partnership of the American Red Cross Silicon Valley Chapter, Swardenski Consulting and United Way Silicon Valley. Working under contract with Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services, CADRE’s programs assist non-profit organizations in developing emergency preparedness plans and improve their coordination efforts with other CBO and local government entities. Operationally, CADRE will also serve to assist the Office of Emergency Services in the event of a disaster in Santa Clara County.
