Acknowledge that Gerry and Gill Rowlands have decided to leave the band due to other commitments – this leaves two spaces on the committee. WEP allocated to others as below

Grimscote Manor have been advised that band is committed to Messiah and unable to attend / FB / Completed
County Music Service have contact Steve with regards a solo brass event but this is on the day of Messiah so unable to do this year / SF
Children’s Activity Workshop – all agreed this is not the type of activity we are able to provide – Tim to advise / TS / Outstanding
Recent contact with BBC (Goldie Project) this is not within our remit – Steve to advise / SF
Tim continues to correspond with Luxembourg Tourist board to co-ordinate tour and with Peter Elliot with regards to Messiah / TS / On-going
Past Two Months feedback
CYB well deserved trophy & prize
Theme concert was very good with lots of positive feedback
Messiah has made a positive start both with the choir and band rehearsals. Good media coverage started by Claire Pilkington
Attendance could be better
Loss of band members is regrettable
MD’s Report / SF
Very please overall with the Theme Concert although felt that Stage discipline needs to be tighten up. Received excellent feedback
Messiah is now the main focus of Friday Rehearsals
Planning for Frie & Brass – last piece of practice will be a Fire & Brass item
CYB Report / MA
National Championship results were fantastic and well deserved. Band organization and behavior on the day was excellent. Event organization was excellent and added to the enjoyment of the day.
CYB played well on the day with most member conducting themselves well.
Forthcoming events Water Orton, Church Fair, School Fete and Youth Brass
CBB Report / SW
Attendance is not consistent and continued issues with non-payment of subs

Theme Concert Feedback
Positives: Set-up/Front of House/Refreshments; Music Programme; Raffle Prizes; Well balanced event
Negative: Not enough publicity; audience mainly friends and relations of band; behavior of some members in audience – this has been addressed. Stage discipline needs to be tighten.
Need to look at booking hall for next year with access to the stage area for the full day. Starting to think of pieces for next year
Messiah
Tim gave an overview of the Steering Group meeting – this was not minuted as separate minutes have already been distributed

Foreign Tour

Next meeting: Propose Sunday 6th June – Band room 10am although this is dependent availability and extra rehearsal times for Messiah to be confirmed.
