COGNITIVE SKILLS

  • Reinforce primary and secondary colors (red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, green).
  • Reinforce seen shapes ( , , , , ).
  • Classify different objects by shape, color and size.
  • Work with English instructions and complete immersion in this language by telling them directions and asking them to repeat simple speech patterns, now just in one language (English).
  • Work with the seen concepts(small-big, up-down, front-back, more-less).
  • Identify and count ofnumbers from 1 to 5 relating with objects.

LINGUISTIC SKILLS

Listening & Oral Expression

  • Ask kids to express ideas in Spanish using longer sentences (at least 4 elements).
  • Teach kids to use repetitive sentences (such as: Thank you, You’re welcome, I want more please, I finished, etc.) in English to ask for things o answer to the teacher.
  • Reinforce sounds and vocabulary of vowels and consonants B, C, D in English.
  • Identify and produce sounds of A, E, I, O, U in English.
  • Learn vocabulary of vowels in English.
  • Learn about Januaryholidays (Three Wise Men (6th).

Initial Reading

  • Reinforce listening and paying attention to stories.
  • Reinforce identifying the title and characters of a story and answering simple questions by pointing at drawings from the story.
  • Order different stories (beginning, middle, ending) with teacher’s help through drawings.
  • Listen to stories in English and identify the title, characters and answer simple questions about them.
  • Start to express their ideas using English.

Initial Writing

  • Usetheir dominant hand (left or right) holding the crayon appropriately (three fingers).
  • Learn what mazes are and how to answer them.
  • Grab a crayon firmly and try to use appropriate fingers.
  • Continue tracing different kinds of lines and seen letters.

PHYSICAL SKILLS

Fine Motor Skills

  • Continue manipulating different materials to reinforce fine motor skills, empathizing on 3 appropriate fingers.
  • Use scissors to cut straight lines.
  • Reinforce copying lines and shapes.
  • Connect dots to complete shapes.

SOCIO-EMOTIONAL SKILLS

  • Reinforce playing in small groups sharing materials.
  • Learn to share their toys.
  • Try to usegood manners without teacher requiring it (please, thank you; excuse me, good morning, hello good-bye).
  • Start to identify different mood states on themselves and their friends (happy-sad, angry-sad).
  • Show affection to their friends.
  • Reinforce understanding classroom rules and following them.

ADAPTIVE SKILLS

  • Be more independent and reinforce:
  • Pick up their things.
  • Leave school bag where corresponds.
  • Wipe their nose.
  • Wash and dry their face and hands with little help.
  • Practice washing their teeth.
  • Practice putting the shoes by themselves.

ART

  • Work on excercises based on the process used by artist Twombly, focused on the estimulation of the ability to aprecciate and distinguish traits on art works.
  • Use of different kinds of lines and geometrical figures on the production process.
  • Torning paper and using it to ellaborate collages.

MUSIC

  • Work basic rythms with the body.
  • Sing with a better tunning and vocal technique

DANCE

  • Use of space

GYM

  • Develop gross motor control on different contexts.
