CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE NORTON KNATCHBULL SCHOOL

  1. You are representing The Norton Knatchbull School and thus have a duty to act responsibly and with courtesy at all times, and to respect local culture.
  1. Abide by School Rules at all times.
  1. The Norton Knatchbull School staff are acting in loco parentis and thus will be the final and undisputed arbiters in all matters.
  1. Dress on the trip must be in accordance with the guidelines issued by the teacher in charge.
  1. Punctuality for all rendezvous is essential. Lateness will inconvenience the whole group.
  1. Assignment work will take priority over all other activities.
  1. Alcohol, drugs and tobacco are not allowed to be purchased or consumed, irrespective of your age.
  1. You must stay in your own room at night after the staff member has checked your room, except in an emergency or if there are no toilet facilities in your room.
  1. You may only go out in the agreed areas in your free time if you:

a) have permission from a member of the school staff

b) arealways in a group of at least four;

c) notify the teacher in charge where you are going;

d) do not go anywhere “out of bounds”;

e) return by the time agreed with your tutor;

c) report back using the official system in operation.

  1. You are responsible for the security of your own possessions eg mobile phones, cameras etc. Travellers’ cheques are a safer way to carry money than cash. You should make an inventory of all the valuables you are carrying.
  1. You are responsible for adequate supplies of any medical items you may need during the trip.
  1. You will be expected to check and comply with all customs and immigration laws.
  1. You will be responsible for ensuring your travel documents and EHIC cards are valid.
  1. You must carry with you at all times the contact/emergency card issued to you.
  1. In the event of non-compliance with the school rules and/or serious misconduct by the student, parents are required to collect their child from the venue.

I agree to abide by the guidelines in this Code of Conduct and understand that failure to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary action being taken on return to school, which may result in forfeiting the right to participate in future trips or visits.

I am aware of the guidelines my son must abide by. I am aware that if the group leader believes that the safety or enjoyment of anyone is at risk because of the behaviour or attitude of my child, they may be banned from an activity and/or I/we may be required to collect my child at my own expense. In such cases, there will be no refund of monies paid.
