SUBJECT: EMPLOYMENT SCHEDULE FOR 2007-2008 SCHOOL YEAR

School begins August 13, 2007 and ends May 23, 2008.

NOTE: Pre-planning is the week of August 6–10, 2007; Post-planning is May 27-28, 2008.

ANNUAL HOURLY EMPLOYEES (260) will work from July 2, 2007 through June 30, 2008. Please refer to the 2007-2008 hourly employee calendar for holidays and to Administrative Rule GBRK concerning earned vacation leave.

ANNUAL EMPLOYEES & HIGH SCHOOL SECRETARIES (240) will work from July 2, 2007 through June 30, 2008. Please refer to the 2007-2008 annual employee calendar for scheduled workdays and to Administrative Rule GBRK concerning earned vacation leave.

CONSULTANTS; PSYCHOLOGISTS; ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL SECRETARIES; RANK III CENTRAL OFFICE CLERKS (220) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 15 days prior to pre-planning and 14 days after post-planning. Beginning date is July 16, 2007; ending date is June 17, 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALS (220) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 15 days prior to pre-planning and 14 days after post-planning. Beginning date is July 16, 2007; ending date is June 17, 2008. Three additional days of work between July 2, 2007 and June 30, 2008 may be requested at the discretion of the Principal. These 3 days will be assigned by the High School Principals and reported to payroll when worked.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS (210) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 9 days prior to pre-planning and 10 days after post-planning. Beginning date is July 24, 2007; ending date is June 11, 2008. High School Assistant Principals may be requested to work three additional days between July 2, 2007 and June 30, 2008. These 3 days will be assigned by the High School Principals and reported to payroll when worked.

PSYCHOLOGISTS (210) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 10 days prior to pre-planning and 9 days after post-planning. Beginning date is July 23, 2007; ending date is June 10, 2008.

BOOKKEEPERS NEW TO COBB COUNTY (200) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 2 days prior to pre-planning and 7 days after post-planning. Beginning date is August 1, 2007; new bookkeepers will not work on August 3, 2007; ending date is June 6, 2008.

BOOKKEEPERS (200) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 2 days prior to pre-planning and 7 days after post-planning. Beginning date is August 2, 2007; ending date is June 6, 2008.

PSYCHOLOGISTS; SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS (200) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 5 additional days prior to pre-planning and 4 days after post-planning. Beginning date is July 30, 2007; ending date is June 3, 2008.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PUPIL PERSONNEL CLERKS (200) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 4 days prior to pre-planning and 5 days after post-planning. Beginning date is July 31, 2007; ending date is June 4, 2008.

ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATORS (196) will begin work on August 1, 2007 and will follow the same schedule as 194 day teachers, plus work 2 days after post-planning. The ending date is May 30, 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL PUPIL PERSONNEL CLERKS NEW TO COBB COUNTY (195) will work the same schedule as 191 day teachers, plus 2 days prior to pre-planning and 2 days after post-planning. Beginning date is August 1, 2007; new Pupil Personnel Clerks will not work on August 3, 2007; ending date is May 30, 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL PUPIL PERSONNEL CLERKS (195) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, plus 2 days prior to pre-planning and 2 days after post-planning. Beginning date is August 2, 2007; ending date is May 30, 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL RANK III GUIDANCE CLERKS NEW TO COBB COUNTY (195) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers except the teacher workday on November 5, 2007. That day will not be a work day. HS Rank III Guidance Clerks will work 2 days prior to pre-planning and 3 days after post-planning. Beginning date is August 1, 2007; new HS Rank III Guidance Clerks will not work on August 3, 2007; ending date is June 2, 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL RANK III GUIDANCE CLERKS (195) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers except the teacher workday on November 5, 2007. That day will not be a work day. HS Rank III Guidance Clerks will work 2 days prior to pre-planning and 3 days after post-planning. Beginning date is August 2, 2007; ending date is June 2, 2008.

TEACHERS NEW TO COBB COUNTY (194) will work according to the 2007-2008 school calendar. Beginning date is August 1, 2007; ending date is May 28, 2008.

TEACHERS (191) will work according to the 2007-2008 school calendar. Beginning date is August 6, 2007; ending date is May 28, 2008.

CONSULTING NURSES; RN/LPN/CLINIC ASSISTANTS; OCCUPATIONAL & PHYSICAL THERAPISTS; ITINERANT NURSES; SPECIAL ED COUNTY-WIDE AND SCHOOL-BASED NURSES (191) will work according to the 2007-2008 school calendar. Beginning date is August 6, 2007; ending date is May 28, 2008.

SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE MANAGERS (191) will work the 180 days school is in session, plus 9 days of pre-planning and 2 days after the school year. Beginning date is July 30, 2007; ending date is May 28, 2008.

CAMPUS POLICE OFFICERS (190) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, except the teacher workday on January 7, 2008. That day will not be a workday. Beginning date is August 6, 2007; ending date is May 28, 2008.

SCHOOL CLERKS; HIGH SCHOOL RANK I GUIDANCE CLERKS (190) will work the same schedule as 191 day classroom teachers, except the teacher workday on November 5, 2007. That day will not be a workday. Beginning date is August 6, 2007; ending date is May 28, 2008.

PARAPROFESSIONALS; PARAPROFESSIONAL MEDIA CLERKS (183) will work the 180 days school is in session, plus 3 days of pre-planning. Beginning date is August 6, 2007; ending date is May 23, 2008. These employees must work three of the five pre-planning days as designated by their Principals.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS (182) will work the 180 days school is in session, plus 2 days prior to school opening. Beginning date is August 9, 2007; ending date is May 23, 2008.

SCHOOL FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANTS (182) will work the 180 days school is in session, plus 2 additional days. Managers may have the FSAs work these 2 additional days anytime during the week prior to the beginning of school, or one day before school and on May 27, 2008.

SCHOOL BUS MONITORS (180) will work the 180 days school is in session. Beginning date is August 13, 2007; ending date is May 23, 2008.

These above dates are subject to change pending FY2008 budget approval recommendations.
