Mission

A mission statement should clearly define the purpose of the organization as well as the products and services to be offered. Why does CPC exist?

3 Components of a Mission Statement:

  • Key market - who is your target customer?
  • Contribution - what product or service do you provide to your customers?
  • Distinction - what makes your product or service unique...why should the client choose you?

Our mission is to improve growth and profitability for our stakeholders through excellence in customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing of affordable, quality plywood.

Vision

A vision statement shows what the organization hopes to become.

Our vision is to become the preferred supplier of quality plywood byachieving a world-class level of manufacturing efficiency.

Values

Values are beliefs that are shared among the stakeholders of an organization. Values drive an organization's culture and priorities and provide a framework in which decisions are made.

Goals by Priorities

Education

  • We will continue to educate the TCC community and beyond on the importance of the Adult Education program.

We will participate in TCC Spotlight Nights.

We will maintain our relationships with the TCC Center for Teaching and Learning, Learning Commons, Student Services, International Student Office, and Technology and Professional Programs.

We will develop more career pathways programs.

We will distribute our newsletter across campus.

We will keep informed through staff development and other opportunities.

We will continue to represent TCC by presenting at educational conferences.

Community Outreach

  • By 22 August 2012, we will meet with the Florida Department of Corrections to ensure that they understand the registration and enrollment process (Maria).
  • By 31 August 2012, we will implement the Gadsden county marketing plan for recruiting students (Harriett).
  • By 3 December 2012, we will produce our first newsletter that will be published twice per semester (Johnny).
  • By 16 December 2012, we will identify three new community partners in Gadsden county who will assist us in locating sites, providing scholarships, and recruiting students (Harriett).
  • By 16 December 2012, we will identify three new community partners in Leon county who will assist us in providing scholarships and recruiting students (Harriett).
  • By 16 December 2012, we will implement our SLS1301/GED Prep Articulation Agreement for the main campus (Johnny).

Data

  • Improve accuracy of data management.

By 24 August 2012, we will review and update attendance policy and the management of attendance data (Ed).

By 24 August 2012, we will review lesson plan procedures and ensure that instructors understand procedures (Kristina).

By 14 September 2012, we will review lesson plans and ensure compliance with lesson plan standards (Kristina).

By 28 September 2012, we will ensure that all instructors adhere to the attendance policies and understand the importance of accuracy (Ed).

  • By 28 September 2012, we will collaborate with IT and IR to develop and implement the new CASAS data collection system (Marghuerite).

Student Impact

  • By 24 August 2012, we will implement new student orientation (Johnny).
  • By 1 November 2012, we will develop a plan to prepare for GED changes.

As updates are received, we will prepare instructors and students for 2014 change in GED testing (Ed).

We will hold staff development workshops for our instructors (Kristina).

  • By 7 January 2013, we will increase the number of GED test takers to 24 per month by offering two testing sessions per month (Marghuerite).

Technology

  • By 16 December 2012, we will collaborate with IT to implement TABE Online (Marghuerite).
  • We will improve student computer literacy skills (Johnny).

By 24 August 2012, we will contact IT about offering a basic computer training class for our students.

By 5 November, we will implement a basic computer training class.

  • By 29 March 2013, we will develop a strategic plan for the implementation of an online GED class (Harriett).

Funding

  • By 3 December 2012, we will review and edit the ESOL grants before the competitive process (Kristina).
  • By 13 February 2013, we will review and edit the adult education grants before the competitive process (Harriett).

Personnel

  • By 29 March 2013, the Career Pathways Specialist position will be funded through Fund One (Harriett).
  • By 28 September 2012, we will hire a TCC unpaid intern to assist us with career pathways (Johnny).
