CMCS 4th Grade Week of March 14, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I love how God shows us little glimpses of what Heaven will be like while we are still here on Earth. I truly believe that when we gather together, have fun, and experience joy that it is just a taste of what our future will be in Heaven. And God is right there smiling and rejoicing along with us! What a wonderful Savior we have!

Here is what to expect this week:

Bible

We are wrapping up our study of Proverbs this week by writing our own proverbs based on the patterns found in the Bible. We then will take our personal psalms and proverbs and create a project to display them nicely. We also have our memory work, Psalm 103:1-5, 20-22, due on Thursday (since there is no school on Friday).

Social Studies

Our test is this week! We will be spending time in class studying for it. The test will take place on Wednesday.

Language Arts

We are moving on to prepositions this week! We are going to specifically look at what prepositions and prepositional phrases are. We also will look at how to create complex sentences.

Science

This week is all about muscles! We are going to take a look at the muscular system and common injuries that happen with muscles. We also will spend a little time talking about growing pains.

Miscellaneous

1)Thursday is the Central Showcase! Come to school from 6:30pm-8pm to view some amazing projects that your child (and others) has been working on. You will also have a chance to see performances from some of the high school students in band and choir, as well as a living wax museum from the 5th grade. It’s a fun night to see all the amazing talents at CMCS.

2)Friday there will be no school because of a teacher inservice day. Enjoy the extra long weekend!

3)Friday is also the end of the 3rd quarter! If there is any work that is late, or any work your child would like to redo for extra points, please have them hand it to me before then. This also means that report cards will be going home next week Wednesday.

4)Next week is Easter Break already! This means we will not have school Thursday-Monday, March 24-28.
