POSITION SPECIFICS

POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Executive Director, this opportunity is for an energetic and passionate individual to measure and execute key communicationstrategies across the organisation with a focus on clubs and members.
The ability to implement strategies at an operational level in order to achieve key outcomes around building member and participant engagement, increasing awareness, and growing member value.
This broad role requires and all-rounder with exceptional people skills, creative social media skills, exceptional written skills, an understanding of membership, and participant experience.
As such the role must represent its functions to members, sponsors, affiliates and government in accordance with the values and standards of Triathlon Queensland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Communications
  • Website updates and management: Triathlon QLD website, State Series, The Starting Line, event URL’s
  • Management of social media platforms on a daily basis in line with strategy and content planning
  • Distribution of EDM’s, development, collection, and creation of content.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, media releases, alerts, and athlete interview/stories
  • Coordinate with other members of the team regarding the monthly newsletter
Club Capacity Development
  • Implement club development initiatives as determined by the strategic plan.
  • End to end coordination, delivery and promotion of relevant activities, seminars and workshops for club development.
  • Attending metropolitan and regional meetings, seminars and conferences.
  • Assisting clubs develop best practice in governance, effective operations, compliance, coaching, and youth development.
  • Communicate regularly with clubs in promoting Triathlon Queensland events, pathways and courses.
  • Assist with “first point of call” enquiries from TQ Members/Clubs/Squads with professional courtesy and a timely manner.
  • Update the membership information on the website
  • Delivery of Top Club and other club growth initiatives.
  • Complete the annual affiliation process for clubs.
  • Participate in and assist in the communication of campaigns, promotions, and club communications relating to membership
  • Respond as “first point of call” for club enquiries or entry to the sport.
Planning and Quality
  • Design a social media strategy to increase reach and engagement with the community and members
  • Assisting with the annual member renewal process and associated communication
Reporting & Finance
  • Prepare reports for ED as required.
  • Management of budget
Event Activation
  • Marketing and promotion of membership at selected events
  • New member/participant engagement
  • Participation as a member of the event team for Triathlon Queensland run events
Other
  • Assist the Executive Director as required
  • Keep abreast of current developments and trends in the events industry.
  • Represent Triathlon Queensland as required.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS

Preferred:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Knowledge of design software, digital marketing, communication techniques, and ability to operate multiple social media platforms.
  • A strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Confident problem solving and decision making capability
  • Ability to work on weekends as required
  • Relationship building skills
