Keep More Money in Your Wallet
Did you know that the average commute in the Valley can cost nearly $13 per day? With gas prices skyrocketing, Club Ride wants to remind you that carpooling, riding transit, bicycling and walking to work can help you save lots. Plus you can earn extra cash and rewards for reporting your commute!
Ways to save on your commute:
- If you carpool with one other person, you are paying half as much as everyone else on gas! Don’t know who to carpool with? Call Club Ride for a list of carpool matches At 228-RIDE (7433)
- Take transit and let your car have the day off. Sit back, relax, and let someone else do the driving! [INSERT EMPLOYER NAME] sells discounted EZ Rider transit passes to help you save even more on your commute.
- Ride your bike or walk to work while the weather is nice. You don’t have to do it every day – even once a week will help you save money (and give you a little exercise too!).
Other gas-saving tips:
- Share school rides. Instead of picking up your kids from school every day, ask a neighbor with kids in the same school to help. You can each take turns picking up the children.
- Don’t use your trunk for storage. Clean out your car and lighten the load to help improve gas efficiency.
- Combine errands and try to park in a central location and walk from place to place. Better yet – eliminate the trip completely by using online services, such as banking, buying stamps and paying bills.
- If you are using commute alternatives, you save in other areas too. If you drive less, you will not have to do things like get the oil changed or rotate your tires as often.
And remember, Club Ride gives away prizes and $25 and $50 gift cards every month to reward commuters for choosing an alternative commute. If you don’t report your commute, you won’t win.
To learn more about Club Ride and our money-saving programs, call 228-RIDE (7433) or visit rtcsnv.com/club_ride.
