MATERIALS NEEDED:

--CLIL Project 3D handout

--A large piece of paper or cardboard

--Pens/pencils

--Glue or tape

--Computer (for Internet research)

--Pictures of different types of houses (Note for Teacher: If students are going to work on the project in class, bring some pictures for them to use or remind them in advance to bring pictures from magazines or the Internet.)

GROUPS Make a poster of different types of houses or homes from around the world. Follow the instructions below and use your notes from your group discussion. (See Student Book 1A, page 71, CLIL Project 3D.)

1 Research three different types of houses or homes on the Internet. Try to find homes that are unique, interesting, and/or different from the homes in your city or town.

2 Print out or draw pictures of the three types of homes.

3 Paste the pictures onto a large piece of paper or cardboard. Under each picture, write sentences about the house.

For example:

HOUSES AROUND THE WORLD

1. This house is in Thailand. It is on stilts because it is in the water….

4 Present your poster to the class. Have a class discussion: which type of home do you like the best? Why?
