Classroom Guidelines/ Norms
- Absent work- It is the student’s responsibility to make up all missed assignments, this includes scheduling time to make up any tests and/or quizzes. Students have one day to make up work for every day they are absent. Students are to pick up the missed work from the class folder.
- Late work policy- Homework and daily assignments are due at the beginning of class and will only be accepted late up to one week after the due date. 10% of the assignment’s final grade is deducted per late day. Major writing assignments and projects may also be accepted late pending the circumstance.
- Plagiarism- is the use of another’s words or ideas and the presentation of them as though they are entirely one’s own. Acts of plagiarism include, but are not limited to 1. using words from a published source without proper documentation and 2. using the work of another. Plagiarism on any assignment will result in a zero with no opportunity to make up the assignment.
- Extra Help/Conferences- If a student needs extra help they can schedule a time to meet with the teacher. Due to potential previous obligations, it is imperative the student schedules a time to meet with the teacher before or after school.
- Food and Drink Policy – Snacks and bottled beverages are allowed in the classroom. This privilege may be taken away if wrappers, crumbs, or spilled liquids are left on the floor for Miss Loesche or a custodian to clean up.
- Hall Passes – Each student will receive five hall passes per semester. Before leaving the room, students must sign out in the hall pass binder. Hall passes are not redeemable and cannot be given away. This policy will be enforced any time after the student has entered the classroom, even if the starting bell has not rung.
- Below is a copy of the Class Norms found posted in Miss Loesche’s room.

I will be spending almost an hour per day with your child this year. I try my best to get to know each and every student during that time. This is where I need your help. You are the expert on your child!
Tell me something significant about your child (i.e. something you are proud of, something unique, something you would want others to know):
Thank you!
