Client Evaluation Summary
On this day 2/ 8/ 04 I met with the client and discussed what they would like from the site. The color themes and animation elements. The information that will be available for the public to access, also talked about having a database and the content which is going to be stored in the database. I discussed issues with incorporating flash elements how they do give a lot to a site but the page load times may be extended, I also discussed graphics and how they will be used on pages
On this day 2/ 9/ 04 I met with the client to discuss what local businesses they would like to include in the promotion of the Festival of the Child and how they will be contributing or what they will bring to the festival
I presented the client with an idea of what we previously talked about and the client really liked what I had done so far and suggested a few ideas to me that will fit in well with what I had planned.
I have asked my client to get contact details and any graphics that businesses contributing might want to include, also any text (welcome message, mission statement) etc.
On this day 27/ 9/ 04 I met with the client to discuss what text content they would like and if she could supply this. Also I showed the progress I had made on the site which they also liked what I had achieved so far, further development of graphics, audio and video and also adding sponsor logos etc.
I am three quarters of the way to finishing the database side of the site including the diary system I have implemented and the members area if all goes well I plan to receive the content needed in the next few days and make any further adjustments.
On this day 19/ 10/ 04 I met with the client, we discussed what I have done with the site. My client is pleased with the progress I have made so far. I’m still collecting content for the site, sponsors logos and brief from those participants. Photos are also being gathered and optimized for the website I have a working prototype of how these images will be implemented and displayed.
Video and audio is to be done next and I will discuss further with my client on how they would like this to be incorporated into the site.
Audio tracks will also be recorded (page welcome message for all pages along with the ‘breadcrumbs’ as to keep the user aware of where they are in the site at all times).
I have explained to the client about hosting and the requirements needed ofthe hosting service, this being that the site contains an Access databasedriven by ASP (Active Server Pages) and hosting such content incurs an annual or a monthly sign up fee, I will be discussing this further with my client in the next coming weeks.
On this day 28/ 10/ 04 I met with the client, we discussed what I have done with the site. My client is pleased with the progress I have made so far. My client has now given me some content to go on with. I have set up the data base for the member and mailing list and this is ready for data input which I will instruct my client of how this is to be done. I have created the Privacy statement and also the Copyright statement which I have installed into the site. My client is doing her bit to drum up some sponsors, I have suggested to her to have a page that is dedicated to attracting possible sponsorship and a provision for them to contact and present their proposals. I am also collecting images to use to give the site some substance. We will be corresponding in the next few days.
On this day 24/ 11/ 04 I met with the client, we discussed what I have done with the site. I Have explained to her the cost of hosting and the requirements due to the database and ASP content. As there is still content my client would like to add but has not yet compiled so they would like to put off the hosting to early January.
