CLASS TITLE:PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR - HRS

ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)

This is work directing and coordinating the psychological services of a state mental health institution. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.

  • Develops program policies and procedures for providing psychological services.
  • Plans, evaluates and directs hospital-wide psychological rehabilitation services.
  • Supervises psychological services staff in all phases of the development, training, implementation, integration, evaluation and monitoring of the client treatment planning process.
  • Provides consultation on various hospital issues involving program development and treatment issues.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates in-service training and professional development of psychological services staff.
  • Consults with other authorities in the psychology field to keep abreast of current trends and developments and exchanges ideas for making present services more effective.
  • Collects, aggregates, interprets and evaluates data on all phases of treatment in the psychological services department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A doctorate from an accredited college or university in psychology, one year of supervised internship experience in professional psychology, and four years of professional experience in psychology; or
  • Licensure as a Psychologist in accordance with Florida Statute 490 and four years of professional psychology experience.
