CLASS TITLE:MEDICAID MANAGEMENT REVIEW MONITOR

This is work in operational management review and control for the Medicaid Contract Management Unit.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Determines that contractor and department offices meet implementation requirements identified in existing and subsequent contracts and amendments.
  • Determines the need of any special reporting requirements of the department and defines those needs to the contractors.
  • Reviews, monitors and evaluates contractors and any subcontractors' performance regarding fulfillment of contractual obligations.
  • Evaluates adequacy of management and administrative reports.
  • Assists department program and administrative personnel in the most effective use of reports produced by the Medicaid Management Information System.
  • Monitors contractor training of providers, provider groups, and departmental personnel.
  • Ensures the adequacy and effectiveness of contractors' system test plans.
  • Participates in evaluation of submitted proposals and in any resulting contract negotiations.
  • Acts as liaison between the department and the Department of Management Services in all matters arising as a result of this contract.
  • Performs related work as required.

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to the operational and management review of a Medicaid program.
  • Ability to review and monitor a Medicaid program to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and standards.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to monitoring of a Medicaid program.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering or administrative work; or
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience as described above; or
  • A doctorate from an accredited college or university and one year of professional experience as described above.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
